I thought that too... but It looks like to me like Aubrey and Aundrea are the ones that don't actually sing... maybe the ad libs.. but that's it! The other girls do sing... staring from Shannons solo part!!
I wish I could watch this concert in HD somewhere...it's so good...and I like the live versions of some of the songs a lot better than the album versions but the audio quality in every video from this concert is poor....
well let me tell u this he didn't riun her carrer she did a movie that came out this year on dvd then she's starrin in another movie plus he solo cd is droppin sometime this year
lol everyone is half right and half wrong...some of this song is obviously being lip synched...you can hear when they are actually singing and when they aren't...their vocals stick out way more than the back track when they are actually singing, and when they let the back track ride, you can hear how much more clear and similar to the album it actually is...Some of it is synched and some of it isn't...it's not hard to tell what parts are and what parts aren't...just pay attention..jeeze lol
why does aubrey lip sync in like every other song? Aundrea does it too, but not as often...Shannon, Dawn, and D. Woods never lip sync...wats up with that?
Actually they all sing over the back-track, they all sing their solo parts live, aundrea just knows how to sound like she does on the Cd. Aubrey skips certain parts and lets the back track do it for her. Dawn lip sings on the chorus and the pre-chorus of this song. d.woods lip sync on her add-libes, so basically shannon only lip sync on the chorus cuss she sings that too. but they sing their solos live and they just lip sync the chorus, all groups do during tours or jus solo singers like chris b

yeah, i knew that they lip synced the choruses. In this performance tho aubrey's the only one who lip synced on her solo part, and it was EXTREMELY noticeable since no one else did. (I noticed this when i saw this performances on MTB when they gave the boyz a lap dance, and she did the same thing there)
yeah Aubrey lip-syncs her part, and its very noticable when she hangs upside down while singing, it wouldn't sound so good so of course i know she is but everyone else is singing live

They are not lip-singing. Everything sounds different from how they sing it on the album, especially on the bridge, Dawn doesnt sing like that on the album. and if u noticed on the album (during the bridge) dawn says "for ur love, jus like a drug" well live she doesnt "jus like a drug" which lets u know its LIVE and aundrea hits the high note way longer and louder than on the album.after saying all that, u people should know by now its NOT live

Actuallt Dawn starts the "eeeee" and Aundrea finishes it. Like the other person said, she over laps Dawn. This performance it really soudns like Danw did the whole thing but Aundrea does it on other performances. There's notihng wrogn if they take turns diffrent performances too. (If that's what they do)
Aundrea has a high register and it's easy for her to hit the high note, she's a soprano and that's like the highest range mostly for females. Dawn hoever is alto so her voice has certain limits and she can't hit the ehole high note especially if she's out of breathe and that's when Aundrea comes in and finishes the note for her, but when they just did their performance is LA, Aundrea hit the whole high note and Dawn didn't contribute anything, so it mine as well be aunddrea's part.
But the producer knows what he wants. The fact that she IS an alto, and still hit it (on the CD/live), is amazing. Yeah, it would've been easier to give Aundrea the whole part but, it wouldn't have sounded as effective. Dawn's tone is fit for this song. Ecstasy has a sultry, calming vibe to it. Dawn's voice is the sultriest in the group b/c it's lower and warmer, especially when she talks. That's exactly why Dawn sets it up first. So Aundrea can BLEND IN with Dawn. Drea can listen very well.
There's more than one producer and they don't work with the same producers through the whole album. Aundrea is the one who hits the high note live, not Dawn because it would sound bad because she be out of breathe after she finishes the bridge. Aundrea is a good listener, but it's Aundrea who hits all the high notes and Dawn's voice that makes it full, you can always hear her voice in Aundrea's high notes, like on Is Anybody Listening when Aundrea did the high notes at the end.
I'm not talking about producers throughout the album. I'm talking about the producer of Ecstasy! And like I said, Dawn hit it in Florida, Georgie and North Carolina. I was there! So how are you gonna tell me Dawn doesn't sing it live? It just depends. The only high note Dawn hits BY HERSELF, is in Ecstasy on the CD. Live, it's both. Dawn's athletic, I'm sure she knows how to breathe correctly and get a second of a note in - that's all she needs for Drea to get in. Once again.... underestimatng.
There's still more than once producer on a track. Diddy was the producer and some other person. Aundrea hit it the opening night, LA, Las Vegas and San Diego. Once again, it might as well be Aundrea's part. Dawn is always used to do a low note version of how the real high note is going to sound and then Aundrea's voice goes over hers and it then becomes aundrea's part. She hit it more times live than Dawn and she probably hit in on the CD. I'm not saying she did it out of favoritism.
I know it MIGHT AS WELL be Aundrea's part, I agree because the format's complicated. But what I'm telling you is that it's NOT! Ya cant change it now, the CD is already out. I'm not saying Dawn did it out of favortism. Since I asked the members myself, I think it's FACTUAL to say that Dawn hit it by herself on the CD, and Aundrea does her runs afterwards. Live? They switched off. Some days Drea hit the note and did the runs. Other days, Dawn hit the note. So for the last time, both hit it :)
The way i see it is there was no reason in giving Dawn the part, whether it's on Cd or Live, if Aundrea's going to be doing it most of the time. If Diddy was trying to see where she's at vocally, he could have had her sing to him instead of putting her voice for the high note, but Aundrea's the one hitting it live. Making someone go higher than what they can is going to make Dawn's throat hurt when he can make it easier for everyone and throw Aundrea in and the note will be done within a second
I see what you're saying but like I said, it's not about what's "easier". It's about what sounds best for the song. Whoever produced the track felt Dawn's voice was right for the bridge and high note and challenged her. Trust me, Keith. Her throat will be fine lol There are plenty of artists who challenge themselves like Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, shoot even some dudes from Day 26! If you sing out of your range CORRECTLY, you'll be fine. That's what vocal trainers are for.
Danity kane goes by who they fill the part is best for. They know that high note is for Aundrea, so they would have easily told her to do it, like when Danity Kane picked Aundrea to lead Hold Me Down. But they must didn't get to pick who sings what part on this song and they were probably thrown in the studio before Diddy actually got the time to talk to them. if you remember, they recorded Ecstasy before they had the little issue with the direction of the album

Dawn ues her falsetto all the time. Aundrea's a fantastic vocalist. Probably one of the best out there. But I dont think she's the complete package like Dawn is. BUT THAT'S MY OPINION. Dawn isn't even falsetto or uses it. Male altos are only capable of using falsetto which would be The Dream. Who told you that?! Mary J. Blige is an alto, she uses a falsetto. Jennifer Hudson is an alto and she can sing just as high as Aundrea can. Falsetto or not. Brandy's an alto, she uses her falsetto. Ciara's an alto, she uses hers. Beyonce's an alto she uses hers.... the list goes on.

Shannon's voice is not higher than aundrea's. Aundrea easily hit the note on Hold Me Down, it was just her timing. They were trying to get her to take a breathe before she hit the note, but she just kept hitting it without taking a breathe before "meeeeeeee". They pushed Aundrea because they know she can do it, but with Dawn, if they know it's not in her range, they wouldn't force it on her like that when they know they can hand it to someone else
Well, i'm going to stick with my "ifs" and "should haves" because if other people read what i was saying they'd probably agree. I'm only 16 and i know how it is with the song writing process and the blending of the voices and the high notes. I've done it before(me n my cuzins hav our own lil group n we record songs on dis machine that works like the ones in the studio) and Dawn got the high note on the CD, but when i heard Aundrea do it live, it would have sounded better if she did it on the CD

Well, if you didn't know, some peole only lik Dawn because of her little meltdown on MTB4 when they were singing to Ankrah. Seeing people's real personality, behind the struggles and the music, is what keeps people attracted to Aundrea. Taking classes concerning muisc theory doesn't mean you studied it. I took three years of music classes and studied all the ranges and passed all my exams, so i know about altos. Look it up, it says altos are below sopranos, which is the highest vocal.
Well if YOU didn't know, some people only like Drea because she's hispanic. Or short. Or has cute chubby cheeks. Or because she has brown hair. Or because she was chosen last to be in DK. Or because her ex broke up with her on t.v. Every single one of those girls had meltdowns, Keith. It's not your job to determine which meltdown is more important or bigger and justify that as why they have their own group of fans. Now, you're just puttin Dawn down for no reason. I don't like aundrea because of her face, i like her because her personality, singing, ability to connect to me with her vocals and emotions when she sings her songs. I like aundrea because she interacts with the fans in other ways then just singing and putting on a show. I like aundrea because she let us know who she is behind the singing and drama of MTB 3. That's why i like Aundrea, her face has nothing to do with it. I like her looks and style (the way she dresses and musically)

There's nothing wrong with connecting to the audience AND givin a show at the same time. But honestly, no one (or must people) who pays 75 bucks wants a "connection". They want to have fun! The only song i like from Soulja Baoy is MY SIDEKICK. I liked crank that soulja boy at one point, but he's starting to irritate me. I wouldn't even say he was a rapper, he'smore like a kids entertainer, meaning pre-teens like 12 and 13. he hasn't got my attention yet. Any song i listen to of Danity Kane's or Beyonce or Keyshia Cole or Day 26 or Omarion/B2K i connect to that shit or it ain't what i wanna hear. When me and my ex weren't doing well, her song "Fallin out", "Didn't I Tell You" and "I remember" on her latest CD made me cry. And Beyonce's "Still in love" and "listen" made me cry too. When me and my parents weren't getting along.... that's all I wanted them to do - LISTEN!! That shit touched me really hard.

Toni B doesn't sing high, i've lsitened to all her cd's and i hear the same range on each song. Kelly doesn't sing high live.You can barely hear her. Erykah always gives the samlow-range. Alicia Keys never uses a falsetto and i lisn to her all the time. I don't listen to Amy so idk wbout her n i wouldn't categorize her as a great singer, good at the mos, but not great, i've heard som of her songs. n T_Boz, the one who has the lowest voice osf them all never uses a falsetto or hits high notes.

I know that. They came down here to a Best Buy for a signing and Disney a while ago. They asked the crowd what we wanted to hear and we said Damaged & Ecstasy, so they sang for us. Then they went to Georgia and North Carolina and did the same thing. Got an aunt in GA, and a godsister in NC.
The only reason why Drea sung the whole note by herself in L.A. is because it was the last night of the tour. And you're right, there's a chance that Dawn could be flat or sharp, but she usually takes that chance and succeeds! Diddy actually, probably told Drea to take the part JUST IN CASE. And honestly, that was the best decision to make. For the fans and the group.

Dawn started singing the chorus while Aundrea hit the note, but my friend stylishjoy went to a signing of theirs and she was the last one in line so she asked D.Woods questions about the song. she says Dawn starts the note off, but Aundrea does it too and overlaps dawn's, so you don't hear Dawn's voice anymore.
Some of you must NOT know music at all. Do any of you know what a falseto is? Let's say Dawn can only sing up to a certain "C" with an open throat. If she uses her falsetto, she can go up a whole octave higher (maybe even further if she pushes herself). Some of you guys make it sound like she has a grown man's voice when in fact, her range is quite wide. The only reason people say Drea's range is wide is because her voice is soprano by default. High voice does not equal wide range.
anyways, regardless of who hit that note (even though im sure in this performance was Dre), it sounded great. and what i meant in my last comment, is that im not sure if that high note is in dawns register because she is an alto and Drea is a soprano.

Dawn sings the entire bridge and the very beginning of the high note in her falsetto and then Aundrea comes in and sings the rest of it. Drea knows how to blend extremely well. Go to Dawn's youtube page & you'll see that she describes their singing format. Dawn always sings the first line (speaking in audio engineering terms) and then the other members overlap over her. So they BOTH sing it. I asked them myself. MOVE ON!! DAMN!

dawn sang it on the cd. drea didnt sing it in the concert either. it was on the back track. they just blend very well. if you know her voice you can tell she did. her voice is normally low but you can tell that she improved so much vocally by widening up her range from the last album to this album

lol everyone is half right and half wrong...some of this song is obviously being lip synched...you can hear when they are actually singing and when they aren't...their vocals stick out way more than the back track when they are actually singing, and when they let the back track ride, you can hear how much more clear and similar to the album it actually is...Some of it is synched and some of it isn't...it's not hard to tell what parts are and what parts aren't...just pay attention..jeeze lol

Actually they all sing over the back-track, they all sing their solo parts live, aundrea just knows how to sound like she does on the Cd. Aubrey skips certain parts and lets the back track do it for her. Dawn lip sings on the chorus and the pre-chorus of this song. d.woods lip sync on her add-libes, so basically shannon only lip sync on the chorus cuss she sings that too. but they sing their solos live and they just lip sync the chorus, all groups do during tours or jus solo singers like chris b

yeah, i knew that they lip synced the choruses. In this performance tho aubrey's the only one who lip synced on her solo part, and it was EXTREMELY noticeable since no one else did. (I noticed this when i saw this performances on MTB when they gave the boyz a lap dance, and she did the same thing there)

They are not lip-singing. Everything sounds different from how they sing it on the album, especially on the bridge, Dawn doesnt sing like that on the album. and if u noticed on the album (during the bridge) dawn says "for ur love, jus like a drug" well live she doesnt "jus like a drug" which lets u know its LIVE and aundrea hits the high note way longer and louder than on the album.after saying all that, u people should know by now its NOT live

Aundrea has a high register and it's easy for her to hit the high note, she's a soprano and that's like the highest range mostly for females. Dawn hoever is alto so her voice has certain limits and she can't hit the ehole high note especially if she's out of breathe and that's when Aundrea comes in and finishes the note for her, but when they just did their performance is LA, Aundrea hit the whole high note and Dawn didn't contribute anything, so it mine as well be aunddrea's part.

But the producer knows what he wants. The fact that she IS an alto, and still hit it (on the CD/live), is amazing. Yeah, it would've been easier to give Aundrea the whole part but, it wouldn't have sounded as effective. Dawn's tone is fit for this song. Ecstasy has a sultry, calming vibe to it. Dawn's voice is the sultriest in the group b/c it's lower and warmer, especially when she talks. That's exactly why Dawn sets it up first. So Aundrea can BLEND IN with Dawn. Drea can listen very well.

There's more than one producer and they don't work with the same producers through the whole album. Aundrea is the one who hits the high note live, not Dawn because it would sound bad because she be out of breathe after she finishes the bridge. Aundrea is a good listener, but it's Aundrea who hits all the high notes and Dawn's voice that makes it full, you can always hear her voice in Aundrea's high notes, like on Is Anybody Listening when Aundrea did the high notes at the end.

I'm not talking about producers throughout the album. I'm talking about the producer of Ecstasy! And like I said, Dawn hit it in Florida, Georgie and North Carolina. I was there! So how are you gonna tell me Dawn doesn't sing it live? It just depends. The only high note Dawn hits BY HERSELF, is in Ecstasy on the CD. Live, it's both. Dawn's athletic, I'm sure she knows how to breathe correctly and get a second of a note in - that's all she needs for Drea to get in. Once again.... underestimatng.

There's still more than once producer on a track. Diddy was the producer and some other person. Aundrea hit it the opening night, LA, Las Vegas and San Diego. Once again, it might as well be Aundrea's part. Dawn is always used to do a low note version of how the real high note is going to sound and then Aundrea's voice goes over hers and it then becomes aundrea's part. She hit it more times live than Dawn and she probably hit in on the CD. I'm not saying she did it out of favoritism.

I know it MIGHT AS WELL be Aundrea's part, I agree because the format's complicated. But what I'm telling you is that it's NOT! Ya cant change it now, the CD is already out. I'm not saying Dawn did it out of favortism. Since I asked the members myself, I think it's FACTUAL to say that Dawn hit it by herself on the CD, and Aundrea does her runs afterwards. Live? They switched off. Some days Drea hit the note and did the runs. Other days, Dawn hit the note. So for the last time, both hit it :)

The way i see it is there was no reason in giving Dawn the part, whether it's on Cd or Live, if Aundrea's going to be doing it most of the time. If Diddy was trying to see where she's at vocally, he could have had her sing to him instead of putting her voice for the high note, but Aundrea's the one hitting it live. Making someone go higher than what they can is going to make Dawn's throat hurt when he can make it easier for everyone and throw Aundrea in and the note will be done within a second

I see what you're saying but like I said, it's not about what's "easier". It's about what sounds best for the song. Whoever produced the track felt Dawn's voice was right for the bridge and high note and challenged her. Trust me, Keith. They know that high note is for Aundrea, so they would have easily told her to do it, like when Danity Kane picked Aundrea to lead Hold Me Down. Dawn ues her falsetto all the time. Aundrea's a fantastic vocalist. Probably one of the best out there. But I dont think she's the complete package like Dawn is. BUT THAT'S MY OPINION. Dawn isn't even falsetto or uses it. Male altos are only capable of using falsetto which would be The Dream. If we go by your theory of "whomever the part is easy for, they get it", then Aundrea would have never killed the bridge on "hold me down". Shannon could have done that easily because her voice is even higher than Drea's. You remember the episode of MTB3 right? When the producer had to PUSH HER to get that one high note. Shannon's voice is not higher than aundrea's. Aundrea easily hit the note on Hold Me Down, it was just her timing. They were trying to get her to take a breathe before she hit the note, but she just kept hitting it without taking a breathe before "meeeeeeee". They pushed Aundrea because they know she can do it, but with Dawn, if they know it's not in her range, they wouldn't force it on her like that when they know they can hand it to someone else

I took three years of music classes and studied all the ranges and passed all my exams, so i know about altos. Look it up, it says altos are below sopranos, which is the highest vocal.

Toni B doesn't sing high, i've lsitened to all her cd's and i hear the same range on each song. Kelly doesn't sing high live.You can barely hear her. Erykah always gives the samlow-range. Alicia Keys never uses a falsetto and i lisn to her all the time. I don't listen to Amy so idk wbout her n i wouldn't categorize her as a great singer, good at the mos, but not great, i've heard som of her songs. n T_Boz, the one who has the lowest voice osf them all never uses a falsetto or hits high notes.

You're missing the point, Keith! LOL! It keeps flying over your head. I'm saying all of the singers I listed are as equally great as MC & B. Even though they sing alto, they are just as badass as the rest. You can sing tenor like Toni does & have the most beautiful voice. You can sing high like Aundrea and have the most beautiful voice. You can be in the middle like Jill Scott & have a beautiful voice. You get it now? You focus on sopranos like they can only REALLY sing, and that's not true.

Wait--how were you there? The Florida date was cancelled. There were only 6 dates on the tour: NY, Baltimore, Chicago, Las Vegas and 2 in California.

I know that. They came down here to a Best Buy for a signing and Disney a while ago. They asked the crowd what we wanted to hear and we said Damaged & Ecstasy, so they sang for us. Then they went to Georgia and North Carolina and did the same thing. Got an aunt in GA, and a godsister in NC.

The only reason why Drea sung the whole note by herself in L.A. is because it was the last night of the tour. And you're right, there's a chance that Dawn could be flat or sharp, but she usually takes that chance and succeeds! Diddy actually, probably told Drea to take the part JUST IN CASE. And honestly, that was the best decision to make. For the fans and the group.

to settle this ridiculous argument.. dawn hit the note. if u notice aundrea fixes the mic when the rest of the girls sig the back up vicals. dawn is sill going.. and as soon as dawn ends that aundrea sings

uh you're wrong. Dawn started singing the chorus while Aundrea hit the note, but my friend stylishjoy went to a signing of theirs and she was the last one in line so she asked D.Woods questions about the song. she says Dawn starts the note off, but Aundrea does it too and overlaps dawn's, so you don't hear Dawn's voice anymore.

Some of you must NOT know music at all. Do any of you know what a falseto is? Let's say Dawn can only sing up to a certain "C" with an open throat. If she uses her falsetto, she can go up a whole octave higher (maybe even further if she pushes herself). Some of you guys make it sound like she has a grown man's voice when in fact, her range is quite wide. The only reason people say Drea's range is wide is because her voice is soprano by default. High voice does not equal wide range.

anyways, regardless of who hit that note (even though im sure in this performance was Dre), it sounded great. and what i meant in my last comment, is that im not sure if that high note is in dawns register because she is an alto and Drea is a soprano.

I know it was Aundrea too. If this video isn't enough proof for some people then i don't know what else they want (a performance in their house or something). Dawn is a great singer, but i've seen an old episode of MTB3 where they recorded Sleep On It and they had to re-arrange the whole bridge because she couldnt't sing in a high voice, so i know they wouldn't make her hit a note like this. It was Aundrea because she is a soprano and it's easy for her, it's in her range

Okay, everyone! I know the real answer so we can leave it alone! Dawn sings the entire bridge and the very beginning of the high note in her falsetto and then Aundrea comes in and sings the rest of it. Drea knows how to blend extremely well. Go to Dawn's youtube page & you'll see that she describes their singing format. Dawn always sings the first line (speaking in audio engineering terms) and then the other members overlap over her. So they BOTH sing it. I asked them myself. MOVE ON!! DAMN!

Dawn sings the entire bridge and the BEGINNING of the high note. Then Aundrea picks up where she left off and finishes the high note. They overlap. I asked them myself.

ONE video in BOSTON doesn't describe every show in the whole United States. I know for a fact that Dawn sang it in Florida and my friend in Georgia told me that she sang it there too. It all depends. I thought we were done with this boy! LOL!

LOL! I only met them once, Keith! They did a signing at Best Buy down here. You know how when you in the front or middle of the line, they make you move forward quickly? I purposely went last in line so I could get in as many questions as I could. And the first thing I asked them was about the Ecstasy song. Shannon, Dawn and Audrea were taking pics with other girls so D. Woods answered me. Oh, and Aubrey said "Dang giiirrrrlll. You're tall!" (I'm 5'9").... I just that was pretty funny lol

dawn sang it on the cd. drea didnt sing it in the concert either. it was on the back track. they just blend very well. if you know her voice you can tell she did. her voice is normally low but you can tell that she improved so much vocally by widening up her range from the last album to this album
