And Muay Thai Sucks ass!!! They don't take each others head off because it's called a DQ, Learn the circuit then you speak... Outside of Sport they would kick most asses... No one goes to events to get DQ'ed...Cock fighting for men is all mma is.
Ray did not fight in UFC... He fault MMA for one fight at STRIKEFORCE...He still a beast n can beat most of you guys asses... Hell it don't even have to be Raymond, and can be Willie Hicks or Jack Felton and they still would kick you guys asses. (LOL)
@ajwilson1990 You havent prooved anything(certainly not me wrong), I dont need a knowledge of freestyle because freestyle is just a mish mash of martial arts. I have extensive knowledge of traditional martial arts. I've not got anything against Raymond Daniels, however, i hear he wasnt that successful when he fought in the UFC (which backs up my first comment).
@ajwilson1990 The video ive passed comment on is neither WCL or UFC, so whats you point. Raymond should stick to th WCL in my opinion rather than lower himself to this "all stars" type of competition You show your imaturity by your need to give personal insults.
Just a bunch Of TKD / Freestylers. Couldnt hurt each other if they wanted too. Anyone hoppin on 1 leg and kickin will get destroyed against an experienced karateka, Muay Thai or other traditional martial artist martial artist
@daikento Raymond Daniels has a perfect WCL record (almost all wins by KO) and Jack also has a near perfect record in the WCL (one loss if I remember correctly). All against professional kickboxers and Muay Thai artists. Not bad for a "bunch of TKD/Freestylers." "Both could indeed "hurt you if they wanted to", and have proven it in full contact organizations like the WCL. Perhaps you should do some homework on some of the people on this video like Raymond and Jack before you say what you say
@mcneil3284 There isn't much strategy to WCL. Just run in there and hit as many times as you can till one gets tired. Where is the fanese, strategy, tactics. You have to be offensive in the WCL, so if you are counter fighter or defensive fighter setting people making your opponent have a false sense of confidence the WCL is not for you. Ray is a offensive fighter "Primarily" and that is why the WCL is good for him. oss
@abenice There is plenty of strategy to the WCL, as well as point fighting. Why do you think the same ppl tend to win repeatedy? Watch some of Raymond's fights, He sets up techniques very nicely. Watch the Caldwell or Decaro fights - both times they tried to smother Ray, but right from the get-go he used solid ring movement, angles, broken rhythm... He set up the knockout shot against Decaro perfectly, headhunted for the first minute, and then took it to the body. I would call that strategy...
@mcneil3284 Caldwell fight, that wasn't a fight. Caldwell didn't do shit just was a punching bag with legs. Please that was a terrible fight. there was no strategy just a fighter scared (caldwell) and froze up. He could have done whatever to caldwell because calwell was doing anything much like tyson early oppenents scared before they even enter the ring. Ray doing car wheels and shit, thats not strategy nor MA that Bullshido.
@abenice That being said, the strategy IS primarily offensively oriented due to the nature of the sport, but to say they just "run in there and hit as many times as you can" is just plain wrong. Ray is an offensive fighter, but he wins because he goes about his offense in an intelligent manner, setting up shots, using the ring, faking, etc. If he ran in there with "no finesse, strategy, or tactics" he would have been knocked out by now. Maybe you just have trouble seeing these qualities...
@mcneil3284 No i dont have problems seeing these qualities but it offensive sport a true defesnsive techinician is punished points for being who he is. So those that are defensive by nature are force to do something they are not use to doing. That would be like asking ray to be defensive in a fight and taking away a point every time he is offensive (not fair right).
@abenice I don't disagree w/ you that the WCL is a offensively oriented sport, it absolutely is. However, the part I disagree with you is on that the fighters "Just run in there and hit as many times as you can till one gets tired. Where is the finesse, strategy, tactics." In that, you are plain wrong - there is plenty, just primarily offensive in nature. Also, those who lost to Ray did not lose b/c they were penalized for not being too defensive, almost all lost b/c they got KO'd.
@mcneil3284 My man I can bring up video of them "run in there and hit as many times as you can until one gets tired". LOOK IT UP ITS THERE. How many times have both fighter have points taken away for "passtivity" then they go flailing punching incorrectly elbows out leading with their shoulder not there hand etc. etc. The video is there of people just flailing, i will say it has gotten better, but still needs much improvement.
@abenice The WCL rewards offensive fighters and punish defensive figthers. So those who flourish in the sport tend to be offensive. But hey its about $ and OFFENSE sells so that is why they do it. Has nothing to do with martial arts. Its BIG business!!
Even in rays points sparring fights when he lost it was because the person was going at him not waiting for ray to come at them. Not saying ray has bad defensive techiniques but if there is a weakness to his game that would be it.
@abenice That being said, there is plenty of defense. Ring movement, ducking, bobbing, and weaving are all there, but they must be followed by offense, as it should be considering fighters are only allowed one 3 minute round. If they had the full 14 rounds like boxing it would be a different story, they could spend a whole round being passive, but that is not the case here - because IT"S A DIFFERENT SPORT.
@mcneil3284 Thats my point and that is why there is alot of flailing. sloppyness. Poor technique @ times. Dont get me wrong there is some good technique but way too much sloppiness. This includes ray (fighting with his hands down.) he relies on speed and quickness more then anything else. SPEED KILLS He is just faster then every one, like roy jones use to be. But look what happen to roy! Ali use to fight the same way but he was smarter he made the adjustment. Lets hope ray does too!
Thank you sir! Oss...
