It should be noted that not all ecotypes have such a strong mother cild relationship, only Residents do. Transient males will either stay with their mother or leave and live mainly solitary. Transient females will leave the mother and start a pod of their own or, in some cases, return to their mother (possibly if they are not able to reproduce).
