People, you're hating and saying to use the mirror or whatever but... I guess that (from what I read in some threads) those traps are designed for adventure maps or purely just for the fun.

If you have neptune's shell you are impervious to this trap,and yes i kno this was b4 1.0

To escape that trap, dig left or right, then up. Boom air pocket, then you have all the time you need to escape.

@BraneXZ at the bottom of the hole was a candle above the candle was a shaft of sand. when he dug out the first sand block to get to the chest, it opened a well of water above, the water travel via a tunel on the side to where the candle on the botton was douseing the flame and cause the sand to shift down 1 block colapsing the platform.

three stuff you might wanna fix:

problem:you could have used the grappling hook/ivy whip solution spikes

p you could have used magic mirror s make the trap on spawn

p diggable terrain s MOAR SPIKES

That first layer on the outside of the water tank is sand, so even if you try to dig an air pocket it just falls, if you try to dig out the obsidian the lava falls and makes more. This is pretty much escape proof.

@FredrickTesla Well I see a solution: dig out some sand from under you to make an air pocket (after the obsidian has formed). Then mine out a wall of sand. The lava will flow through the hole in which the sand wall is but will only form another layer of obsidian. Then you just dig through the wall.

Or just use the Magic mirror :P

cool trap, but drowning makes it too easy to counter. and the ammount of sand blocks collected helps to sponge out the water after the obsidian layer forms above.
