@zakyboi123 Try classifieds in the back of stationary engine magazine, Somthing will turn up eventually. or maybe briggs and stratton still make a few parts that would be right for your engine.
@zakyboi123 Thanks for the comments lol. U aint the only one who has made remarks about the Ron lookalike thing, But ive grown my hair so im alright now lolz.
@zakyboi123 Yup =-D. Did it in 2 phases really. It taken apart by my dad (I sort of helped by passing spanners and plasters, But i was only young, I think the year was 1998-2000 but i aint sure.) I only started work on this engine in 2009, When dad figured i was ready for a project of my own. Did a little bit whenever i could so it took almost a year to finish but it paid off. Good luck with your D and your briggs btw. What stage are you up to?
Interesting, sounds like you might have worn valve guides. I would sugest, with it running just pop the rocker cover off and put a little oil around them bottom of the spring and top of the guide. You can get brand new guides but if it's running well there's no need.
I'm going to post a video of my newly restored Ruston PB soon, I had it running for the first time today although I still have to paint the exhaust and fuel tank.
@steamwally Thankyou for telling me about the valves i will try it next time i rally it. And let me know when you have finished the video of the ruston i want to see it.
my, d is in suffolk right now, unrestored... and how did you know about the briggs?

Looks and sounds superb!
I have a D type too, I work it hard all day on a dynamo at rallys, they sound fantastic working hard.
Cheers,
Phill.

@steamwally Thankyou. The only problem is after mine has run for about 4 hours the valves heat up and begin to rattle.
