See the difference? It's like comparing my Diesel truck being the Mustang to a Powerwheel being the S2000. Our "unpractical" V8's give us the ability to twist frames on launches, you can't say that for your 4 cylinders.
really close race. with these cars it came down to mods but even stock it would have been pretty good. both cars will do around 13 or 14 sec in the quarter.

Was that actually a mustang?! With the GT package!? Its not everyday you see one of those, theyre almost as rare as a camaro. If the s2000 wouldnt have had such a terrible launch it would have been better, just wait until the corner... oh ya i just realized because the s2000 has double wishbone suspension that makes it more predictable in the curves it wont do as well as the mustang which will plow its way through the corners and take a pro driver to bring it under control. Both are nice though
@CJones5050 Umm the Mustang. S2000 can't handle too much boost with stock motor. You can get a supercharger for the Mustang and get around 420-450 rwhp before the motor blows.

The S2K should have had its top up. That creates unnecessary drag at speeds over 80km/h, it's been tested to be .4 seconds or so slower in the 1/4 mile with the top down as opposed to up, with the drag playing an even more significant role as speeds rise. Not saying it would have won anyway, but it's worth mentioning.
why do people keep on comparing the two, theyre of different class...Mustang is suppose to be masculine, powerful, big, heavy...the westerns like to be masculine and strong...where as the s2k is smaller, lighter, quick because well theyre from asia...and asian people are in general smaller than the anglo american..so they have smaller cars...the men are also more feminine compare to western men..also explains the design..
@SerenityBeast Please don't stereotype. The S2K is from Japan, a lot of countries in Asia have smaller lanes (roads) and there's less open stretches of road. Also there is a tax on engine capacity, and THAT explains the design of such cars. Nimble, light-weight and low capacity engines with high specific output. They are more concerned with handling and balance than outright power. It has nothing to do with how masculine you perceive their men to be.
I guess you can say that I am being stereotype but there is a correlation to what I've said. Look at the cars that are produced from Asia, just the look, they're not as masculine looking as cars from America. And yes, the main point is that cars from japan doesn't have a lot of power because of the roads in japan, they care about handling more. I guess I got off the topic of power and went to the cosmetic design instead.
@SerenityBeast A lot of cars in Asia are actually designed by Europeans and even Americans. I'd say the GT-R looks quite masculine by your standards, as do most of the Evo's and STi's. Hell even some American cars are becoming more "sleek" as opposed to outright beasty looking. It's just the trend right now. In any case my point about the lower displacement/higher output cars in Japan still stands, and it's largely due to their roads and their engine capacity tax. Both cars are awesome anyway :)

actually the Mustang has 4600 cc's or 4.6 liters,the Mustang has 2.6 liters more displacement but it also outweighs the Honda by 2000 lbs.there is still no replacement for displacement.the V8 also has one thing the 4 cylinder will never have and that is gobs of torque.

Was that actually a mustang?! With the GT package!? Its not everyday you see one of those, theyre almost as rare as a camaro. If the s2000 wouldnt have had such a terrible launch it would have been better, just wait until the corner... oh ya i just realized because the s2000 has double wishbone suspension that makes it more predictable in the curves it wont do as well as the mustang which will plow its way through the corners and take a pro driver to bring it under control. LOL, i have raced 450hp V8's at track days with my 1.8L ITR DC2 and i rape them in the corners.. overall i get better lap times.. plus i use less than half the gas and my maintained costs are lower...

We decided to do some pulls against each other, and his 4th gear was pulling from my 2nd. The S2K should have had its top up. That creates unnecessary drag at speeds over 80km/h, it's been tested to be .4 seconds or so slower in the 1/4 mile with the top down as opposed to up, with the drag playing an even more significant role as speeds rise. Not saying it would have won anyway, but it's worth mentioning.

Also there is a tax on engine capacity, and THAT explains the design of such cars. Nimble, light-weight and low capacity engines with high specific output. They are more concerned with handling and balance than outright power. It has nothing to do with how masculine you perceive their men to be.

@SerenityBeast A lot of cars in Asia are actually designed by Europeans and even Americans. I'd say the GT-R looks quite masculine by your standards, as do most of the Evo's and STi's. Hell even some American cars are becoming more "sleek" as opposed to outright beasty looking. It's just the trend right now. In any case my point about the lower displacement/higher output cars in Japan still stands, and it's largely due to their roads and their engine capacity tax. Both cars are awesome anyway :)

actually... you're both correct.. in USA the USDM version is called the Acura NSX.. the JDM version *in Japan and Europe* is called the Honda NSX... Honda owns both names and chose to go with Honda NSX in Japan and Europe and to go with Acura NSX here in the US.. :) both mustangs and imports can be badass cars... it's all in how they're built and tuned and in the end comes down to the driver... shitty driver in a fast car v.s. great driver in a not as fast car..cont.
