It is true Octavia did not succumb to AIDS but she was HIV positive. Which there is no shame in the diagnoses. She battled drug addiction for many years. That was not a big secret. But again I think her journey was a very difficult one. God Bless her!!

It is not known, at least publicly, if the cancer which killed her was AIDS-related. The anti-viral medication that Octavia took was very effective for years in keeping her healthy. Let us not forget that synthetic estrogen has been linked to cancer. And the silicone that was disastrously injected into O's hips (and which she tried, unsuccessfully to have removed several times) migrated down her legs. And frankly, silicone is no friend to the human body. A great beauty and kind soul regardless.
