It is a great song! But with the exceptions of a few, "New York, NY" and "All Along the Watchtower" come to mind, the original is usually considered the best. But let's give credit where it's due, this isn't the easiest song to reproduce--especially vocally, and these guys hold their own (and did it live!)... I have to say I'm always amazed at the amount of zeal shown by Buckley fans, especially by those who were aware of him before his death. The guy obviously was doing something right.

@spuddeer and rayyan88: completely agree with you that jeff was the best musician ever. But I think OneRepublic don't ruin it. I think there's two reasons why bands/artists cover a song: 1) to offer a new interpretation & to change it radically and 2) to pay hommage to the original artist. To me, this cover is definitely No. 2. Jeff was so great, no one comes near him musically - even OneRep might be aware of that. So do you want to stop bands from covering Jeff? Would be kinda lame, eh?

oh, and to all the TWATS on here that think this cover is poor, what can you offer as a better alternative? I know the guitar and drum parts aren't entirely faithful, but the vocal is amazingly close to the original and I don't know of anyone that can sound this good and pull it off live that's done this tune.

This is a fantastic live cover. One Republic might be pop, but they do this well. As far as I'm concerned its not them that should fuck off but MUSE and other fuckers out there that have made their money off Buckley and Radiohead's sound.

And this guy is a way better and truer singer than that fuckstick matt bellendamy.

This is such a spot on vocal performance that it fucking hurts. Even Buckley struggled performing this live, and rarely went for all the extra oohs and aahs live like this.
