The sound on all these official vids is heavily processed. Trying to get the same sound from your own set up is not going to be easy. There is only so much you can put into a low cost guitar. All Epiphones are great value for money but don't expect miracles at the lower end.

I don't understand why people say that this guitar is cheap: i got this one and i don't think it's the best guitar but it isn't cheap: it's very light, the sound is good, the neck s thin very plaisant, It isn't cheap! Damn!

This video is funny because they make this cheap Epiphone sound like the greatest guitar. I bet they had it hooked up to the best amps and effects money can buy to get that tone. I owned one not a bad guitar but I could never get that nice a tone distorted or clean. I sold it for a better guitar but you can play all styles of music with it a good guitar to learn from but if you are a serious player they kind of suck.

This guitar is amazing! It plays and sounds better than my epiphone firebird and schecter. Very light, fast, and sounds amazing for its price range. Good for beginner and intermediate players for sure.

@JIHADJESSE Yes. Am amp is an important part of your guitar playing experience. Most beginner guitarists drop the guitar thinking they aren't good enough to play guitar but it is actually the cheap amp.

i have a ebony one and customized it with all gold hardware and put gold tailpiece and tunomatic bridge on it and also a gold pickguard that was fitted on to the guitar, its an awesome guitar to mess with and it proves that a low value guitar is being played by a awesome guitarist it will sound like an 2000 dollar gibson

Just got that red one today and it sounds great. Wine red was the best cover, here's what I thought about the other colors. White: looked cheap, Black: too gothic and looked too blan, Sunburst: looked like someone just painted orange on the middle of the guitar, Heritage sunburs

I recommend spending the little extra on the Les Paul 100. Sounds and feels great, has full controls, better tuners, and a carved top. No problems with it what so ever.

@theamartstore I'm not spending 100 more dollars until i can actually play good. And when i'm done with my special 2, i'll spend more money and go straight to a standard istead of a 100. But the special 2 is a very good guitar, I may just stick with it

This guitar does NOT have a mahogany body, it has a laminated alder body on the newer ones. And I think the older ones are particle board.

Les Paul special....

I own a fender squire bullet they are horrible they have these thick baseball bat Necks never stay in tune and the action on the strings is to high.

I've tried to adjust it but I would give me some buzz on the E string.

On the other hand the my squire looks alot like a fender start with the same kinda headstock same basic features (don't sound or play nothing alike tho)

the les Paul special 100 has that les Paul sound and the feel nice neck they stay in tune jus

@iConverseMyLife all the other les pauls have a tone and volume knob for each pick up. I dont know what the other differences are but thats the biggest

@iConverseMyLife normal LP standards have better pickups usually, lots of little details that the LP special doesnt have. Think of LP special as a bare-bones skeleton for the LP standard and deluxe guitars. You can always put more stuff on a special to make it sound better though, and usually in the long run is cheaper.

I've had one of these for quite a while now, and it has become my most used guitar. The tone and feel of it is much better than pretty much all of my more expensive guitars. Stays constant when played clean, or with lots of gain. Very solid, and have not had a problem with it yet. Perfect for a newbie, or someone who has been playing for a long time.

@BlueguitarJamz It is because This guitar is not as well made than the other guitars epiphone has out right now. It is ment for begginers or for people who don't want to spend a lot of money on a guitar. That doesn't mean it isn't a good guitar though. More expensive guitars will most likely sound better and are easier to play. If anyone has something else to add to this or correct me if I am saying anything wrong then go ahead.
