This has got to be, the second worst horror movie I have EVER seen in my life. Anyone that found this movie even 'chilling' is the biggest pussy on the face of the Earth. If you want to know a GOOD ghost/paranormal movie, then watch The Orphanage or any of the Paranormal Activity movies. And let's not even get me started on how inconsistent it is.

I loved this film,for those who don't know it's directed by Courtney Solomon,he directed the first D&D film,that didn't go over well,I personally didn't think it was that bad for a family film,so I'm glad he got a second chance,and he does much better on this film,it's not a family film,but it has a light hearted feel to it,and it's not particularly scary,although it has a nice high def look,with good casting,and it's a mystery too,think Fright night,and Emily Rose,meets Sherlock holmes.

There are a lot of traps and ways to die in the castle, the spirits even use phychic to lead the guy into suicide and they have to stay sane to survive. Does anyone know that movie? Please help! This movie was good and maybe even underrated a little bit. Of course it wasn't The Exorcist level but still worth watching. Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek were wonderful as usual but Rachel Hurd-Wood made this film - phenomenal acting!!!

So, not the best movie scare-wise (how many modern horror movies are?) but I liked the plot.

Rape victims internalizing the pain and reliving the memories IS actually what happens. This movie is a good physical interpretation of what emotionally can happen to a rape victim, especially when they feel they can never tell. It speaks to me.

John raped Betsy, and Lucy discovered him, but they repressed that memory, bcaus its painful. That is why the ghost writes on the journal the word "remember", because she forgot. And thats why Betsy appears again bleeding in the present. To warn the woman.

the divorced mum and her daughter are living in the bells home. since betsy was abused by her dad in that very home in the 19th century its about to happen again with the daughter and her dad (mum's ex) when he takes her out for the weekend. betsy's ghost appears to the mum when the daughter gets in the car and yells out help her meaning that the daughter is going to get abused. the attacks were caused by an innocent being of betsy trying to make her remember what happened.
