@maxendenia its not even the size that makes teahupoo a barbaric ride, big waves drain that reef to where it is ungodly shallow, and there is nothing else this big that flings itself forward like that. you always see the big deep water waves barrelin out, but they are really just piling up and falling over. the dynamics of the water being sucked out of the reef and that mondo wave exploding in to replace it makes for a ride that you really can't catch anywhere else. before i die......
