@latech1116 It's not about how much they get paid, it's what they do with the money afterwards. They have the choice to reinvest the money which puts capital in the hands of companies which create jobs. The idea of a performance bonus is that you were able to make good business choices, thus you're getting compensated for it. Look at Warren Buffett for example, he gives a lot of his money to charity. If he hadn't made a lot of money, he wouldn't have money to give away.

I worked at HBOS plc for 4 years and hated every second of it. The company had absolutely no ethical or moral standards, much like the people who worked there that were 'good at their job'.

The bank actively lured vulnerable people into cycles of debt to make as much profit as possible. Overdraft --> Credit Cards --> Loan --> Arrears Recovery --> Courts Order..that's how they wanted it to play out, pay off debt by offering even more debt.

They didn't give a crap about their customers.
