  • hello, I have a similar project to do in school. If you don't mind, can you share the sources and .bit file with me (mury43@yahoo.com)?

    Thank you, Marius

  • Hello, please answer the e-mail I sent to you.

  • may you please tell me if it is necessary to set the mouse or i can set the ports as input and let it send me the 33bit packet?

  • Good job, Cabnfever!

I have completed pretty much the same project - connecting a mouse to Spartan 3E Starter Kit board, rendering cursor and a grid of squares on 640x480 VGA display and dragging one of the squares with a mouse pointer.

Feel free to ask for sources :)

  • @VioletGiraffe Hey! Can I also get the source code? stefanpsycho@yahoo.com

  • ospina_daniela@yahoo.com

  • Hello @Cabnfever, can you please send me that code

  • good

  • for VHDL source code of mouse and other I/O of Xilinx Spartan 3. look for the book "FPGA Prototyping by VHDL examples". author Pong P. Chu. publish 2008.

  • Hi Cabnfever ! Would you like to post that suorce code for everybody?. Thank you so much !

  • ARRRhan,

Yes, I wrote the HDL code using VHDL. Feel free to ask me any questions - I like to help when I can.

  • Cabnfever, I would like to make a sort of Paint using the Spartan 3 board, I have a VGA controller, an UART, framebuffer, ps/2 interface almost ready but I would like help making a cursor using the the mouse and when hold down the click and drag you would paint on the screen. Any help would be appreciate it.

  • @Cabnfever Hello! Is it possible for you to send me the source code please? stefanpsycho@yahoo.com

  • Very much it was pleasant, thanks. I am going to buy Spartan-3AN Starter Kit too. Do you wrote HDL-code yourself?

I am going to begin studying FPGA with board Spartan-3AN Starter Kit. Can I will ask you if there will be questions?

I search for friends, for the help in studying FPGA.

  • Nice!!! XD

  • can you give me the source code of that program?

    pls

  • It's not a program :l

  • Hi dude, how do you do that? it's a digilent card? I need to do something like that.

  • ....i mean a digilent board...

  • Yes, it's a Digilent Spartan 3 board, which you can still get from their website.

  • how to do that????

  • I dabbled in VHDL when I had to take a Computer Hardware course in University.

  • great video... i have a question!!.. How much money you paid for your fpga? or How much does now?

  • I paid $100 for the board. I believe that Digilent sells similar boards for around the same price currently...

  • Is that a Spartan Kit?

  • Man, how did use the mouse, i dont get the clock signal from it, cann you pass the code to me? plis

  • I'm an engineering student and I was wondering if there is any way to get the vhdl code for this project. It would be a great learning tool.

  • +1 here

  • I work for the company that produces the FPGA (Digilent Inc.) check out :

    digilentinc(dot)com or

    tayloredengineering(dot)com

for more info on FPGAs. I will be updating Digilent's website with sample VHDL code soon.

  • I think Xilinx produces the actual FPGA, Digilent puts it on a nice board with switches and whatnot. Not to nitpick....

Anyways, howsabout a job at Digilent? I graduate with a BSEE in December... :p

  • Sorry, what I meant to say way that Digilent is the sole manufacturer of Xilinx's development boards. The board you used was engineered by Digilent, with Xilinx's chip on top. Digilent is quite small (only about 8 employees) but we sell boards like the one you used to over 600 universities around the world, plus many industry customers. Bottom line: I don't think we are going to be hiring in the near future. Sorry

  • Hello sir, I would like to know more about Verilog nd VHDL.i'm Masters student , and going to take take up VLSI in next semetser..so whats about Diligent,....i am very inclined to hear from you

  • yeah I know but some parts are rather hard with only a book

  • where did you learn to program vhdl?

  • Uni. :) There are tons of books out there on it, though...

  • which is better, vhdl or verilog?

  • no.

  • good work.

  • Rad! Your giant brain is serving you well. Also, the soundtrack rocked me! Don't stop, belieivin'!

  • Where can i buy one?
