I remember this one, because, I was listening to it on headphones, and my father was in the room. At the end, there are some pretty weird electronic noises. My dad made fun of my as a "space cadet" when that song faded out, and he could hear it!
Sometimes, I wonder if I'm the only one who think that's maybe the most beautiful song ever, because nobody, really nobody talk about this song. I don't understand, because it make me... yeah, I don't really know
Ultimate classic. Too bad we don't talent and albums like this. Nowadays it's all about visual effects, physical appearance and being semi-naked in expensive video clips. Melody, lyrics and inspiration? No one seems to care anymore, as long it sells millions in the non-brain media.
@bleelac Your comment made me laugh, my friend. Was enjoying this wonderful song, glanced over and saw your shared little joke with the world. I hope I'm just like you when I'm 60. What will that something mean? It'll mean I still got plenty of LIFE left in me AND that I never lost touch with who I used to be and the ear for the wonderful musical choices I hard-wired to my soul, like, the incredible band that was JA.
Fly Jefferson Airplane get you there on time. Captain High at your service!
Jack isn't the only one that's all over the place. Listen to Spencer on drums. This band was soooo good that it makes me cry sometimes. They just completely understood the time in which they were living their youth.
Casady's bass playing here is a beauty to behold. He slowly climbs up, then gracefully falls back down to the lower register, repeating the cycle over and over, using feedback to pull you along. No one before or since has played bass quite like this.
I always picture from a video " faces of death" or "death faces". The movie showes the electuction of the Boston strangler. I always see his face with his eye sockets loades with allot of gauze, and the crude white tape job over each eye in an x. The end of the song where the gutar note gives it last screeming long note I see the blood trickle out of his eyes and down his cheeks. What is this song about anyway?
Jack's bass blows me away!

Another lyrical monument by Marty Balin. He has a unique poetic talent and soulful voice that set JA apart from other 60's bands.

One of my favorite Jefferson Airplane Songs. Jack's bass is all over the map - but it fits!

Wonderful track. Casady especially. He's off on a tangent all of his own.

His harmonics can never be recreated. Coming from a musician's point of view, they are those certain over tones that can never be "tabbed" out.
