Real is skill, sure a 2" inch line is fun and you can do cool tricks on it, but it does not require the skill or level of meditation a 1" line requires.
Okay, but I just don't want to meditate on my line! For me it´s all about jumping and trying new combos with several lines. Different style, different line, that`s it. There is no right and wrong!
So keep on meditating PorkinSan...;o)
Maybe you will understand it - once you´ve found your inner middle...!
