Wagon appeared in early 1972, not 1971. Mine was a 1973 Runabout. It was a car I loved. We were never afraid to ride in it...but we did have the gas tank recall done.
I've had 2 Pinto's; a '71 Squire Wagon (first year) and a '79 wagon which was a LOADED Pinto, which is an oxymoron unto itself. 4 way manual seat (back/forth PLUS up/down), a really cool swivel map light, factory A/C which blew COLD, light group, rear defrost. Pinto's are FUN cars to drive, and talk about looks! I had a car load of 20 something babes in an Audi A8 slow down and roll down their windows to give me a big "thumbs up" on the interstate.
You have good taste in cars and a good heart too!

I'd like to have my 72 2.0 ltr. back. It was a good car.
