Great song and video...well done. My dad also died right after this song came out. he died in 1999 from cancer and I used to play this song over and over. i can't listen to it without crying. My dad had a 1955 Ford Thunderbird, which i consider our car. I helped him work on it and restore when I was 10 years old. I still have the car and its in my garage. I couldn't bring myself to work on it or drive it after he died. I started working on it recently and hope to have it back on the road soon.
thanks for posting this..I lost my dad in '98 and I still cry sometimes when I think about him being gone..this is a great video you did..you have a lucky husband and he has a lucky dad :)
Wonderful video. This song is very special because it came out just after my pop passed. His only new car was his 67 Mustang which went to the salvage yard in 74. Years later- the day before our pop went into the hospital for lung surgery- we surprised him with another 67 mustang which need a little work-just as in the video. It was something that he could look forward to after surgery. Well- POP contracted pneunomia while in the hospital- and passed. He never did get to drive his 67 again.
I've kept that car in the garage since 96- starting her up from time to time. Now my brother and I have finally come to terms with his passing and will continue the restoration on the 67 mustang. We'll jazz it up a bit but mostly keep her stock adding pop's black vinyl roof and the bench seat that he ordered and never got from the dealer. She has to be metallic green as pop would want it. Pop was a NYC Policeman and tough as nails but he shared his love archery and carpentry with us.He's missed
