  • i saw this live and had fucking tears in my eyes...

    awesome

  • Steve uses his guitar as an extension of himself...it screams and shreds through him, definitely one of the top guitarists out there!

  • McAlpine really kick VAI's ass on this one uh...

    ___METAL UP YOUR ASS___

  • That was awesome but the difference in volume between vai and the other guys is distracting and takes away from the music.

  • Te diste cuenta que tenes 80k de repeticiones, y yankiesque comentan en el video

    QUE INCREIBLE SIDA CANCER

  • This video just made tender, caring love to my ears.

  • in the words of little nicky "f**kin' awesome"

  • pause at 5:17 they're all having orgasms.

  • thumbs up if this sounds a bit like Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart

  • facking O R G A S M I C

  • @natsoman24 You're surprised? To me it's just common sense.

    Thumbs up I say.

  • OMG

  • 6:26

Can someone please play that in a lesson or slow it down. I'm having trouble learning it. I'm serious. SOMEONE HELP!

  • @dtopeth2 dude that would be hard to explain download guitar pro 6 free version and check it out.

  • you tube should change the caification sing to a couple of horns.

  • Can we get some props for the drummer? Man is workin it!!!

  • Vai....McAlpine....really, do you need to know any more?....

  • 3 People clicked a lil bit too much to the right when they wen't to like this video.

  • FUCKING AWESOME!!!!

  • 6:02 Macalpine solo, says to vai : don't forget who is the master...

  • si que se divierten! very nice

  • McAlpine is a great shredder, but Vai's stuf is more artistic and soundscape creating...for example the Moon and I. I would call Vai a bit more complete when it comes to making music. But McAlpine deserves a lot of respect and is a great guitarplayer. Good performance of a straight ahead virtuostic rock song.

  • Crazy!!!

  • Steve Vai is one of the best guitarists in existance.

  • AMAZING!!

  • Papa steve vai

  • I think mcalpine did better in that little trade-off, 6:02 was just mind blowing improv

  • Buckethead is the shiz too... kinda. But Van Halen Trumps... biches.. =]

  • @g2gboom Nah Van Halen annoys the crap out of me, all of their music is terrible.

  • Steve vai u r god.

  • lol they look like they are having an orgasm when they are playing theyre guitar Vai and Macalpine lol

  • i was gonna buy this on RBN, but i wanted to know what i was getting into.

    sweet song!

  • What's the name of the swart player?

  • The black guy's name is: Tony MacAlpine

  • the hardest¡ the best¡ steve vai ROCKS¡¡¡

  • perfect race car video game themesong

  • love this song... a classic one

  • The riff at the beginning of the song reminds of the chours riff in "Kickstar My Heart" with Motley Crue

  • why is it i cant download this video with teh youtube downloader? it says that it can find no flash video???

  • Yeah!!

  • well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • his facial expression is great :))

  • IN VAI WE TRUST

  • !!!

  • THIS IS FUCKING GOOD

  • billy sheehan = best bassist ever

  • omfG ,,vai is still playing ..lol

  • My opinion is that Vai entertains much better than Tony.

  • rofl all the people saying macalpine is better than vai, only morons think that 1 is better than the other, i've seen macalpine do things vai wouldn't do and seen vai do things macalpine couldn't do, so anyone stupidly comparing them needs a better understanding of music not being a competition, and even when it is, show me 1 vid of macalpine destroying vai, and ill show you 2 of the opposite, also vai has charm, macalpine just has ego

  • I agree SleepyMuse24; sometimes people comparing guitarists and other musicians in the "He's better than..." kinda way can be juvenile. Almost every musician has something to offer that's special that no one else can do.

  • Exactly, i mean ill have an opinion(which everyone does)but its not like i rate a guitarist on ONLY SOUND, ill take technique into consideration and the sound difference between different songs. But there is no REAL WAY to rate guitarists. Just listen to the people u like and leave it at that. And every musician does have somethin different to offer

  • so true, music is a matter of personal taste therefore what i think is better you may think it's not, so there's no way to judge (unless is a real piece of shit kind of music :D)

  • hell ya bother lol

  • I love how you say vai "wouldn't do" and mcalpine "couldn't do"

made me chuckle :D Both great guitarists in their own ways!

  • I agree, every guitarist is better than other on something, comparing is stupid

  • @SleepyMuse24

i play bass since december. i can boink him out XD

  • actualy i dont like Vai too much, but this is insanely great

  • I think McAlpine's guitar should be turned up some.

He's just a good of a shredder as Vai, but they are different if that makes any sense.

  • I agree with you, it should be put up louder. I went to this show when they were here in Budapest and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen! McAlpine kicks ass!

  • @firstcoming yeah man, seriously i love vai to death, but in that duel i liked Tony a lot more

  • i wanna play bass like that

  • Too bad Sheehan is a $cientologist..

  • I think Tony McAlpine is a better player than Vai, with all due respect to the latter (and MUCH respect is due).

There. I said it. Slap the cuffs on me and put me in jail.

  • There's nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, but at their respective level, its more than who is better, It becomes personal preference, and you prefer McAlpine

  • I can't see where I disagree with a syllable of what your wrote.

I would add one thing, however: Vai shows A LOT of class and confidence by bringing MacAlpine aboard as a "sideman," and giving him so much time in the spotlight.

  • I love the album version of this song more than this.

  • I dunno I like the interaction between Vai, Macalpine and Sheehan here, especially the bit where they're playing eachotheres guitars.

  • Maaaan... It's quite funny... the bass player plays as good as many solo guitarists. :D And Tony Mcalpine... that nigger can play on every fucking instrument he's the guru.

  • what kind of bass is that?

  • Billy Sheehan has his own line of Yamaha signature basses.

  • Dave Weiner!! - I subscribe to his weekly lessons. And is Billy Sheehan a bad ass or what.

  • Hellz yes he is.

  • stevie rocks

    rock on stevie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • kickass stevie

  • the best part its the bass solo

  • Dude. Vai is sick. Tony is sick. That bassist is sick. The other guitarist is sick. That drummer is sick. What more could you want?

  • some medicine.

    hahah

  • Oh, you're silly! :)

  • I think Im gonna be sick... lol!

  • steve vai has more control over the instrument but both excellant

  • that guitar duel was so fuckin awesome!!

but i have to say i liked Tony better

(dont hate me for that :P)

  • Around 6:00...

Was Vai Sweeping and tapping at the same time???

  • yeah i think so, thats how it appears to me

  • This isn't called Get The Hell Out of Here...It's called I'm The Hell Outta Here.

  • No, its called Get The Hell Out of Here, its on The Elusive Lights and Sounds album, this is just a live version.

  • Actually, the live version is called "I'm The Hell Out of Here" idiot, and it says so on the back of the G3 DVD...

  • The soloduel between Tony and Steve is just fucking golden.

  • he's a beast

  • sorry meant to add this to my other comment but what i meant to add on was just watch steve vai mess with that wammy bar its just crazy

  • makes it sound like if he'd use a wahwah

  • i dont care what anyone says steve vai is the best ever and it will always be that way end of story

  • the best guitarist in the world!

    absolutely!

  • i ahte the bassman,, sos stupid

  • That's billy sheehan the van halen bass player. your mad

  • Van Halen? What? Sure you don't mean David Lee Roth?

  • David Lee Roth was the front man in Van Halen lol

  • Yeah, so? Just because someone plays with DLR doesn't mean that they can be called "Van Halen bassplayer".

  • Let's clear all of this up

Billy Sheehan played for David Lee Roth..(ex-frontman of Van Halen/current frontman of Van Halen)

Michael Anthony played bass for Van Halen.

    Sheehan was NEVER in VH

  • You must of miss understood me.

i know billy has never played bass for van halen.

i've been listning to van halen for a decade now i pretty much know the lineup(sammy hagar is currently there frontman, I saw them live a few weeks ago on tv and the date of the tour was 2007/2008 and Hagar was the frontman). i'm talking about the tapping style that sheehan uses on the bass. it's the style that van halen uses. billy pretty much developed his style on the tapping by listning to van halen.

    O.K

  • Roth is definitely frontman right now.. I saw them in October last year.

  • with vai and macalpine, it's really not who's best as much as it is about the individuals' respective talents and how well they synergize them into the music. I think that's what really shows the maturity and caliber of these musicians.

  • There's a small chance that MacAlpine can match Vai technically, but I doubt he could create music as beautiful as Vai's.

  • Oh, please: you know - you know full well - that Tony surpasses Vai technically (small chance? Ha, ha. Matter of fact, ask Vai) and is a more advanced musician. As for musical beauty, Tony has created music as " beautiful as Vai's. " In any case, though, and more to the point, both of them are absolutely unique and neither can outdo the other when it comes to doing their respective things.

  • i just typed get the hell out of here so my cuzin wood leave it worked and i loved da song!

  • lol thats awesome. Steve Vai is the shit.

  • I thought the song was called Im the hell outa here

  • amazing soloo 4 Steve Vai..bravo

  • all of you are complete knobs!! all 3 guitars the bass and drumer are all performers!! do you think steve vai would ask them to play if they were s h i t!! its all rehurst anyway!! just enjoy the music!! and stop bitching about it!!

  • Vai is my god. O.O He is everything you can ask to see in the music world. He creates his own Ultra world which he is alive in. Back to humanity: The parts at 2:08, 3:51, 4:04, 4:29 and 5:57 Fucking ROCKED and will always will O.O Who the hell am I kidding, the whole song is is a goddammed masterpiece! =) Long live Vai!

  • ego clashes ,what the hell,it about musicianship not u and me

  • im sorry but i think tony alpine rocked steve in their little solo off =/

  • Sweet,I have this one on DVD. Pretty awesome on my Flat screen :)

  • no one owns vai no one

  • fuckin noob it's ''i'm the hell outta here''

  • billy sheehan. the best bassist EVER!!!!

  • The only bad thing about this is the crappy equipment the back-up players are using. Vai needs to buy them some new amps or something.

  • lol you're an idiot.. the "backup" players are very accomplished musicians themselves who own tons of equipments..

  • I know, but their tone sounds like crap next to his.

  • yeah because people came to see Vai and his support guitarists shouldnt be overpowering/toning him lol

  • They should when they're the ones soloing and Vai is playing back-up.

  • which is almost never?

  • LOL its true at 05:11 looks like the are jacking each other off XDD

    awesome presentation thou

  • very mature :)

  • Tony Macalpine owned Vai lol

  • ooh yeeah.. i can already hear them saying shit about me cause i said that

  • fuck you vai rocks :)

  • haha both rocks!

    but macalpine rocks harder :)

  • wow..potty mouth!

  • The best song of Vai... I love this performance.

  • Love this performance! I listen to it very often! Vai is great!

  • at 4:00-5:00 i saw them do this in concert it was so funny it looked like they were having gay sex pettruci fucking owned vai in some shred off and the black guy did some boring 12 minutes piano solo

    STEVE VAI SUCKED THIS YEAR!

sorry man but he had two queer violinists one which was a 22 year old in some like purple dress

  • i too see one of his concert this year, he can fire violist but i must disagree that steve vai himself sucked, actually i think he is better then ever :D

  • Steve Vai is purely a trick guitarist.

  • whats he doing at 2:25? i wanna learn to do that!

  • one of my faourite songs by steve vai along with bad horsie :D

  • aa man so freaking awesome...

    cant get enough of this

  • cool

  • cool

  • which album is this off of?

  • Vai may Rock but it also helps when you have Billy Sheehan on bass =)

  • that's tony macAlpine.

  • He's also a renowned classical painist.

  • and who's the black during the duel ?

  • what's his guitare ?

    which model ?

  • Ibanez JEM

  • what the fuck!!! dude that was wooow!! shit i have to learn somthing about how to play like that

  • This song is fuking ace, come on steve vai one of the worlds best guitarists with a band full of the worlds best musicians = god band :D

  • Also I love how Vai gets "elegant" @ 6:46. Classic.

  • There is a reason for it - he's pulling his shirt cuff back from the wrist, so it won't dampen the strings. Normal people just wear short sleeves.

  • that may be, but also I think he just enjoys being "man elegant" still he's the best.

  • Hardly anyone ever gives Tony Macalpine credit, he's a fucking beast on guitar, and a good musician in general.

  • cool..this is steve vai sir

  • billy sheehan is awesome... i love his overdrive tone

  • billy sheehan...

  • no way, get the hell out of here :P

  • Anyone know the name of the bassist?

  • LEGEND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what a song man!!!

    that was really fucking good!!!

  • Greate tour :D

  • Man, He's AMAZING... I'm a drummer, but I'm seariously thinking about being a guitar player after seing him

  • i wished this song never ended, i always imagine some sort of action scene with a hero and a lot of bad guys. with car chases and shooting.

  • god, i love the faces he makes. he's so epic

  • Was this song ever released on an album?
