  • Ese concierto es muy bonito, pero es para OBOE!

  • soprano sax owns clarinet

  • ooh haha thats pretty cool.

    i play the saxophone too

    but alto.

i cant wait to try out soprano

    its beautiful.

how long have you been playing for?

  • Keep it up man, you've got some pure talent for your age.

  • neman pojma koji bi kurac napisa za ovo! kriminal

  • whoever said that it was bad u r mean its good he's a pretty good player.

  • Ben j'suis lorrain alors !!!

    Le Stanislas on connait

  • hahah nicee!!! im guessing that sax is ur main?

  • yh, he seems to ge slogging a bit on clarinet

  • Sounds amazing! :)

  • This is really funny! I would love to try something like this too!!!

  • That sounds just like a clarinet... probably because the kids at my school suck at oboe

  • My sporano at my school is way better that yours.

  • wait, that is a clarinet! not an oboe! geez im retarded~

  • Hey, If you read it you can see that he plays clarinet and sax

  • Yeah, it's a soprano saxaphone XD

  • like it

  • can anyone please tell me what kind of soprano sax sidney bechet played?.. i want to purchase the exact one he had. thank you.

  • retard

  • dude ur prety damn good for your age not much coming from a 17 year old whos only played for 5 years but keep at it man dont take heart to all these pricks who give you shit bout your playing which im assuming u dont. But i do have to say ur clarinet isnt up to par with your soprano whihc ur prbably already aware of. peace dude

  • omg u have made me want a soprano sax even more... :(

    xo.

  • KOOL!!!! HOW OLD R U AGAIN?

  • OBOES RULE

i play that in school band

  • WELL DONE.

  • Your soprano playing is much better than clarinet, you need to stop the undertones on the higher notes of the clarinet. also guy before who cares, go to a concert and pay for music if u want it exactly how you want it, you're getting this free and hes not claiming hes imitating vivaldi and definately not baroque as its clarinet and saxophone, jeez.

  • Jesus Christ, what the fuck is wrong with you Americans? This is the uttermost crap I've fucking ever heard, it doesn't sound like nor Baroque or Vivaldi, at all.

  • And what in Jesus Christ's name does being American have anything to do with it? Attack his music if you must, but his nationality is irrelevant. You are just making a fool of yourself.

  • Saxophone is retarded. Long live double reeds.

  • AMEN TO THAT...

  • say whutever u want

    saxophone 4 life!

  • very nicely done as a fellow sax player i must say i'm very impressed

  • Very impressive. As a clarinet player who is trying out the soprano sax, I'd say that the soprano player is really excellent.

  • its cool because they almost sound the same. they sound very nice.

  • I love the soprano, just a bit fatter than an oboe,

and automatic octave key changes when the 3d finger is down(LH). OK gives us some more soprano-oboe subs.

  • amzing!

  • Good job!

    =]

  • to repetetive on both instruments!!!!

  • ???

  • duder, its not that easy to switch from one sax to another. you have to learn a completely new embouchure, if you're good that is, and that takes time.

  • stop moving so much

  • r u crazy moveing shows the passion of the song he has

  • Brilliant on the sop. sax. Reminds me of Jethro Tull's 'A Passion Play'.

  • very nice!

  • im confused....are u guys the same person?

  • Dude Oboe rock i am a oboe player an dude it rocks!

  • Would have sounded better on an oboe. lol. I play oboe but I'm learning to play alto sax.

  • no wonder the sax is better its a better instrument!!

  • you are better at sax, but still very good on clari

  • all sax's fingerings are the same so its really easy to play them all once u know one

  • That was cool. Good job!

The clarinet sound kinda weird, though...

  • Check this sax soprano/tenor stuff:

    Up Above jazz

  • i love both especially the clarinet :-p it is my instrument lol

  • classical soprano is blasphemous.

  • good saxo, but very bad clarinet

  • yeah u shake them hips. ogd ur killing me tho its piercing

  • it was good, but when playing the soprano sa, u should rele use a sling, u may not feel it now, but in the long term, it will rele injure u if u dont use it! :)

  • I'm having to play the Vivaldi Sonata in G minor on tenor for my music juries this semester. I HATE Vivaldi... haha

  • i play soprano, and i WISH i was that good...

  • bs did he get the sax that morning

  • wow, the soprano sax sounds great! I really want to play the soprano sax one day, is it very different to the clarinet? (which I play at the moment)

  • Wow.. That was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. You have re-awaken my love for Vivaldi! I LOVE YOU! I WANT TO MARRY YOU AND YOUR CLARINET AND SAX! But you have bad posture so I don't think it would work out..

  • I for one don't see any problems with the movements. It's all about feeling for the music, and flowing along with it. Lang Lang, world renowned pianist, plays like he's spastic or something (especially his facial expression), but it really sets the mood for the piece he plays. Don't listen to those naysayers about movement! Just make sure it doesn't affect your pitching...

  • -and you should also redo this but all soprano sax!

  • Throw down the clarinet, keep playing the soprano and then I'll ask you to marry me... !!!

  • ur tone 4 clarinet good be better

  • The soprana was good, but clarinet tonguing sounded kind of choppy. and please, no killing oboe solos. it can be good and still kill it, if the wrong instruments play it.

  • personally found it kind of boring, and the movement is annoying and looks stupid. you might want to get that under control if you ever hope to perform professionally. take it from someone who knows. actually, i'd recommend that whatever you do, don't quit your day job. best advice i ever got, and i was a prodigy in my day, so i know what i'm talking about. best of luck to ya, kid.

  • (Shut up, mexinuggetsanyone!) That's pretty cool...I want to try to play saprano sax, but I'm stuck with my alto for now...Anyway, you're really good. Don't let these freaks with no musical talent whatsoever tell you otherwise.

  • lol you're saying ranked 8th in the whole state of oregon for the high shool solo competition is no music talent...? i'd like you to play for the three judges i had to play for rank better then me then tell me i have no musical talent

  • Haha, way to reply to a comment from two years ago. I'd take this video down, but the comments are too entertaining.

  • wow you are good!

  • Good God you people! LOTS of pieces are transcribed for other instruments. Just be happy that the piece is actually being played instead of falling through the cracks of classical repertoire.

  • clarinet could be better.

    tone is good.

you move alot when playing the sax though.

Otherwise, I would say stick with that.

  • Wow!

  • weres the freaken oboe.

  • To play the worl for oboe on a soprano sax! I play obobe and flute and you're good and all but that's like murder. And you did not get that thing this morning. LIAR!

  • i had better tone in 5th grade. ANd he's playing a SACRED oboe solo on soprano sax??

    Burn him!!

  • ... you need to wok on your clarinet tone, i had better tone then that in 6th grade, and you should stop playing soprano sax now... before you get worse.

over all i think people should stop saying how good this kid is... cuz he's not that good

  • hm maybe you should post a video of yourself cause either your being sarcastic or you have a complete lack of understanding of how the instruments are supposed to sound cause by anyones standards thats amazing.

  • acutally i'm ranked 8th in the state of oregon in low sax devision (tenors and baritone sax) and 18th in the state of oregon on clarinet... by that i mean solo's. plus i only practiced my solos for about two weeks (yes i know coulda woulda shoulda but didn't put more time into it) and i don't do youtube crap because i honestly don't care what people on here have to think about my playing and i don't need anyones approval either if you want to hear me play come to OSu on the 15th for state comp

  • Sacrelige! to play a work for Oboe on Sop Sax! I don't CARE that the sop sax is the closest sound to a baroque oboe! :(

  • sounds great

  • Pure talent! I'd love to be able to play either the Clarinet or Soprano Sax like that...

  • not bad at all.

  • wow thats really cool that you played it on two instruments you should have mixed them together and see what you get

  • dis music must be tough

  • you bitch! i dream of a soprano for years! i'm a oboe-student. buat you're just genious.

  • Lovely sound on both clari and sax. You are very talented.

  • saprano sax sounds beautiful :)

  • good stuff young man ... keep on with your music

  • wow dont listen to those other people

    your REALLY good

  • What do you call that music??

  • cool

  • Quit music.

  • shut the fuck up. hes good

  • quit being such a mathafuckin piece of jerk

  • post more videos please

  • BAD BAD BAD! BORING BORING BORING!

  • You need to swallow a thumbtack. I hate when people are like YOU SHOULD BUY THIS INSTRUMENT, YOU SHOULD DO THIS. You don't even know the circumstances, so shut it already.

  • I looove the part where you played the soprano! It was amazing !!

  • How long have u been playing? u sound pro!

  • You are just amazing! You sound really so professional

  • What brand and model is your soprano?

  • What brand of soprano are you playing? You sound great.

  • lovely soprano tone, horrible clarinet one

  • You are very right. You can tell he picked up a Sax b4 he did a clarinet. But overall it was fair performance, might've been better if you just played the whole thing on Sop. Sax. Nice.

  • i play this solo last year, one baby on Oboe!

  • what is this song called

  • You should listen to a recording by Jean Paul-Goy from the Lausanne Orchestra. He does this entire piece on oboe. It's astounding. It can give you tips on where to breath, articualte, and such.

  • you play wonderful alto sax;but i still love my oboe sounds.

  • watch tounging on the clarinet. Connect the beautiful arpeggios. Nice, very nice on the soprano sax but sometimes you get a bit flat. also, don't take to much time breathing in between phrases.

  • u sound like a frickin oboe on soprano

  • You do realize its a straight soprano...

  • Actually, as far as sopranos go, yamaha rules.

  • love this

  • You may want to consider transposing.

  • I know I commented before but I wanted to put in another comment saying there's nothing wrong with moving and getting into a piece (; if it does anything to the music at all it just adds emotion which is, of course, the key variable. Many people can play the notes on the sheet but the deciding factor when comparing musicians is how they interpret the music.

  • thanks for ur video!

  • i have that chair too! mine is pink

  • Lol, you guys are great! Thanks for all the comments.

  • I can't BELIEVE your teacher allows you to practice in that chair!! Really, you should be ashamed. Also, leave the Vivaldi to the oboe and flute players...renditions like this are embarrassing.

  • It's never harmful to think outside of the box. And I think it was a wonderful tribute to the actual piece.

  • Thanks to you i've gained respect from the soprano sax again. Someone in my 7th grade band fucking tortured the thing.

  • yore a inteligent boy

  • love the song and that sax man.. keep it up!!

  • Definitely need a new legature on your sax :P

Little bit flat lined on the Clarinet, maybe it's written as such. Never heard a version of this tune besides this one. Catchy song though :D

  • gosh john... why do you have to be so amazing???

and i miss you during lit choir... i have no one to teach me new things. =[

but very very very nice job.

    caitlin

  • i love you! XD

    good job =D

  • i liked it

  • haha u move ur body like ur having a seizure when u play the sax.... haha seizure

  • Your sax playing is wonderful, and your clarinet is not bad, I have heard a lot worse. Your achieving a nice dark tone on your clarinet, just watch the tounging.

  • yeah that's the only thing i would say too. tounging on the clarinet can get a little raspy at times, but the tone is good, just work on technique for it too..the tone is most likely coming from the sax playing. Excellent sax work though

  • good embouchure

  • Thanks for the comments everyone. Yeah, I know my clarinet needs a lot of work... and it's not really getting it now since I've been working on sax so much.

  • From watching videos, sax is definetly a winner for you. The long notes on clarinet were very stable. Very even notes, no choppy notes except with some clarinet jumping from note to note. A little delay.

But, the soprano is what I want to hear more of.

  • ooh, you sound good on the soprano! nice job

  • stick with the sax, you making a much better sound on it and there is less fuzz between your sax notes.

  • I think that played with sax it's much more better than clarinet :) I'm an oboist, by the way :)

  • That was really good. Let me come play my oboe with you!

  • your specialty is still saxophones.

  • ... try to listen this concerto played by a good oboe player and then you can compare... man listen to pierlott, or sous or hans de vries no point of view

  • LMAO nice movements. Nice playing but the constipated acting doesnt do justice.

  • Buen sonido de los 2 enhorabuena.

  • ahh awesome :) i love this concerto! i love the saprano sax

  • sounds good. try and play standing still. peace

  • this was pretty wicked! i'd love to hear you duet with yourself on soprano and clari. i prefer your sop to your clari to be honest as u appear to be much more profficient at sop. x x

  • dude. what can I say? I play soprano myself, and to hear it played so well to classical, yea, pretty sweet stuff.

  • who are you humping when you play sop? lot of thrusting going on lol

  • you need some one else to play with...

  • Oh, hey, I know that piece!!

  • lol wow, that was pretty amazing. what clarinet do you use and mouthpiece/ligature/reed set up?

  • Man, you're a total musician, I play soprano sax but clarinet (that's another thing)

  • Thanks for the comment minimara!
