I'm so glad you chose the butterfly! It's so muc more feminine and creative. Without it, the logo looks to business savy and cold. Maybe you girls are just in it for the money, but I like to believe there is a heart-felt side to your vision.

I agree with a lot of the other responses on here. They are both elegant, but the logo which includes the butterfly is a very nice feminine touch in addition to the pink. I think that the butterfly also adds foreground/background complexity to the logo, which could be beneficial for drawing in the attention of a young woman =).

I like them both, but I think having the butterfly would be more symbolic. To me a butterfly represents freedom. It ties in with your message about girls being able to express themselves freely. Nice Job on the design!

It looks much better with the butterfly. Turning from a young girl to a woman is like the metamorphosis of a butterfly and I think that this idea supports the idea of GBD

The butterfly has been used as a symbol of femininity as well as creative thinking and such constructs are definitely applicable to goals of the group. It also adds more of a dimension to the logo. However, the lack of a butterfly makes it seem more professional and a little less cluttered. Sorry, but the overwhelming femininity of the symbol is overpowering the underlying "brute" nature of my maleness and so I cannot help you decide. :)

The butterfly adds a degree of femininity to the logo, but that's just an enhancement. it's readable without the butterfly, and having the butterfly may keep some people from figuring out that the logo is for an organization dedicated to the empowerment of girls.

BTW on my tours with students I point out Donna Karan's rooftop glass office and the fact that she's worth half a billion dollars. That also may inspire girls to excel.

Hi sweet girls!I like the butterfly because in my opinion it more accurately reflects your intention to have GBD be a brand associated with "freedom, self-expression, growth,etc". I see that in other peoples' comments-they are suggesting leaving it out to make it more professional. But, wasn't the whole reasoning behind the creation of GBD to "free" teens from what society dictates as what is "appropriate" and what is not in a sense?? Just my two cents..:):)

Very interesting, the interpretation of butterflies as pretty, fragile, and easy to capture. I always think as butterflies as symbolic of transformation and metamorphosis, very fitting for young girls becoming young women.
