The only reason CoD doesn't change is because not a single other shooter even comes close to matching it's quality. BF3 on the PC might have gotten the closest, but the console version is pure and utter garbage. A PC version alone isn't enough to sell a game, folks. Don't hate Activision, IW, or 3arch for CoD not changing, blame the competition for sucking.

@EpicWinMan88 Well, the first thing is you need to stop telling yourself CoD is only played by 12 year olds to make yourself feel better. I actually play it pretty regularly, and the majority of the people I come across are in the 16-25 range. Go ahead and stay in denial, though. If a company can come up with a good formula for an FPS, they WILL topple CoD. It isn't impossible, and it will happen eventually. Those "12 year olds" also happen to be very fickle, and just want a not-so-deep shooter.

All it'll take is a combination of the CoD playerbase getting slightly tired and a new, innovative shooter that's actually a blast to bring CoD down. @EpicWinMan88 You're not considering gaming's popularity. CoD's records seem high now, but in 10-15 years that might seem small. Gaming used to be viewed as something only super nerds did. Now it's something a lot of guys do. The game's industry is going to only continue to grow, and at the rate it's growing at now it's going to be bigger than the movie industry. At that point CoD's 17 million would be a joke, and that's not with people mindlessly sticking to one franchise.

@EpicWinMan88 It really depends. Unfortunately, with gaming's rise to fame, so has casual gaming. This means that games need to be more accessible. That's the reason CoD is where it is now, honestly. I can start playing, and within a week I'm not getting hopelessly shat on, while in most other shooters people will even tell you it takes months and months of getting destroyed before you start to catch on. BF3, Gears, ect just aren't friendly to new players, and that's a downside nowadays.
@TwinBladeFury Yeah, the rise of casual gaming is the reason that CoD is successful, you can just jump on and play and within a few hours, you'll have at least one OP gun that can just kill everyone else and you'll feel accomplished, while with other games, like Battlefield, the first few weeks will just be getting shot in the back, getting run over by cars, blown up by tanks, and shot down by AA guns

I've been playing since 6 months into Black Ops (Not my first time playing CoD, but my first time playing hardcore), and even with the powerful guns, there is still a lot of strategy you can learn to make you even better. CoD is easy to get into, but deep enough to keep you around. Other games are really deep and practically impossible to get into. People wanna blame the 12 year olds, but it's really the fact that their gave game is too hard...
@TwinBladeFury I know, it took me a long time to get into Battlefield. And, all myths about CoD aside, people can easily ruin the game for you, especially when they're just sitting in a corner, doing nothing and your the only guy trying to win the game
@EpicWinMan88 I honestly haven't seen much of that in MW3. In Black Ops it happened a lot, but that was because the maps were a ton bigger. In MW3 I've more or less always got an entire team working to get the win, especially in Demo, KF, TDM, and Sabo.
@TwinBladeFury well people co-operate in Kill COnfirmed, because you get free points out of it and you really cant camp that much cause theres literally no point on the map that has less than 2 access points (which is good and bad) and what else is there to do, killwhoring isnt worth the trouble anymore cause killstreaks dont stack up and TDM, obviously because the objective of the game is to killwhore

@TwinBladeFury Killstreaks in MW3 dont stack towards the MOAB i meant, i play MW3, and there are very few points on the map that have only one access point and those points are usually in useless places like the edge of the map, opposite side of the map from the objective etc.

In BF3 you NEED to play tactically to reliably win. Coordinate vehicular strikes and infantry rushing in squads ect.

I was told campaign was amazing, then I played it. Summing it up as short as I can. CoD Black Ops + MW3 - half of the content, no character development and a sloppy plot, with a very poor ending. The graphics were better, thats it. I've also heard complaints about Elite, well battlelog doesnt want to notice that I have bought BF3..
and I can't connect my console account. The AMAZING destructibility is quite weak and limited despite what it was advertised. The online, though different with larger maps and vehicles, are slow and really quite boring, which, though more realistic, is not fun, while MW3 I find quite fun. So in a closing statement, get your head out of your boring BF3 fanboyism and actually look at what each game offers.

I was told campaign was amazing, then I played it. Summing it up as short as I can. CoD Black Ops + MW3 - half of the content, no character development and a sloppy plot, with a very poor ending. The graphics were better, thats it. I've also heard complaints about Elite, well battlelog doesnt want to notice that I have bought BF3..

and I can't connect my console account. The AMAZING destructibility is quite weak and limited despite what it was advertised. The online, though different with larger maps and vehicles, are slow and really quite boring, which, though more realistic, is not fun, while MW3 I find quite fun. So in a closing statement, get your head out of your boring BF3 fanboyism and actually look at what each game offers.
