  • Are you sure hes happy? He looks like hes bitten most his tail off. It should be alot longer.

  • Aww, he's got a shot tail like one of mine has ^^ - Other than that hes so cute ^^

  • RAts are stil a total win.

  • whoa why your degu has the tail so short? did u grab his tail?

  • So cute! He looks exactly like mine.

  • hes cute ! do u only have one , how old is he ?

  • he's... nearly 4. I had 2 though the other died last summer during the UK heatwave. He's doing well on his own though =)

  • How old was the other one?

  • erm... 2 1/2, 3 I believe. Thats quite short, in the terms of a degus lifespan isnt it?

  • Well, it actually is quite short.

But I really don't know how old do degus even normally live there?

In Finland, the average age is about 7 years.

  • Sorry to hear about his tail. That would put him in a higher class than a rat, or hampster. Most cool:)! Thanx for the clairification.

  • Better looking than a rat. or hampster. Seems smart too:)

  • he's missing part of his tail, so they usually have a sort of brush tail, like a Chinchilla. And yes, he's quite smart; sometimes too smart =)

  • ok i agree better looking than a hampster but ive owned rats and ive seen some very good loking rats and rats are smarter than dogs a real fact

  • um only depending on the breed of dog and the situation rats cam memorize thing like mazes 4 food ware a dog wouldnt but it could smell a human bured deep under snow in the mountan ware a rat would b looking 4 cheese
