Lima Update: Facebook and Armed Pregnancy Blog

Watch out for psycho "pregnant" women that become your friends to steal your baby and perhaps kill the mother. There are isolated incidents but they are out there...they use social media, churches, and maternity groups/classes to get close. Very small percentage but make sure to ascertain their pregnacy. Do not let strangers into your life/home. Make sure the pregnancy is legit. These "women" would be mentally ill but able to move around undetected. Great idea limalife.

@nikolai4422 Nope. No Texas. Sorry about the rules over there. Seem kind of silly to me but I see how our way of life could seem silly to you. My neighbor is from England and she thinks I'm nuts. But we are great friends. There's a whole lot more to life than guns and as long as people can respectfully disagree without imposing I have no problem with it.

@limalife Thats ok its not your fault ;) I think I'd feel like a more empowered citizen if the government trusted me to carry a weapon. If you train with guns, like I know you do, then its a good idea that you carry. You might prevent a robbery or protect yourself in a crime situation. Often the police only arrive after crimes, so being armed might be preventative. But I also know that I wouldn't be happy for a lot of the other people in my city to be armed because theyd be total liabilities.

I stopped to get petrol one day and a couple of gang banger types walked into the gas station, stuffing guns in the back of their trousers. I happened to be going to the shooting range, so I got my AR15 out of the trunk and waited for them (also called police) thankfully they wussed out and nothing happened

@nikolai4422 I am from Texas a Man. I do not cary a weapon nor felt need for it. If I was 6 + months pregnant or with a small child I would like the right to cary a weapon. My Daughter is a beautiful girl, she is always carring a weapon. I like my Daughter carring a weapon. There's a sense amoung many that the fragile economy could possibly colapse and that it would bring in Millions of Rioters and looters. Our Constitution prohibits the gov. from diarming the citizens a means to keep US FREE.

The purpose of gun ownership is exactly what you describe, to feel safe anywhere and everywhere. Sure, we'd all like to rely on law enforcement to be everywhere all the time, but as a member of the law enforcement community myself, I can very clearly say that it simply isn't possible, let alone practical for the eyes of the law to be everywhere, all the time. I wouldn't want it to be either, that would be an end to privacy and the ability of the individual to control their life.

@nikolai4422 No offense Nikola but most of us don't own firearms to protect ourselves from street criminals, but primarily to protect ourselves from the criminals in suits that US Citizens vote into office. I *am* a Texas citizen and thereby a US National but most state citizens volunteered into US Citizenship so they are under the purview of the 14th Amendment. This essentially makes them serfs similar to what you Brits are to this day. Feudalism is alive & well in the USA - though not by name.

Think of it as a reason to invest in suppressed weapons for practice, not as a reason to avoid carrying a firearm.
