I had a girlfriend called Andrea in Wednesfield, UK back in 1975. I was mean to her and still feel guilty about it now. If you're reading this i'm truly sorry.
The man behind The Sunrays was Murry Wilson, the father of Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson of The Beach Boys. When Brian told him to get out of BB business, he went looking for a band he could "...out Beach Boy the Beach Boys" with. Murry was a spiteful man, indeed.
@andithebombmom Hey, that's my uncle Eddie Medora, the one standing in the back. Just came across this video. Very nostalgic indeed. I remember this song from my youth. Very catchy. Yes, definitely in the vein of the Beach Boys. They knew each other. Glad you liked the song. :)
@andithebombmom Hi Andrea! I would love to; however, unfortunately he passed about a year or so ago. Much too young, that's for sure, and that's what makes these recordings even more special to those who knew him... Have a great day and keep enjoying the song... :)
You NEVER hear this anymore, yet it was a huge, iconic hit in Jan-Feb '66 - 560 WHYN in Springfield Mass played this over & over - what a great song! Thanks 4 posting
Remembering living in Huntington Beach, and watching Lloyd Thaxton & this BOSS song was played almost every day in early 66----The Best Year in my Opinion, for music !!!
Wasn't this the band manged by Brian Wilson's asshole dad who was jealous and insecure about his oldest son's success, and angry about being fired as the Beach Boy's manager?
One of the all time favorites from my youth. Rarely heard. So may folks don't remember this great tune. I saw this here before from Hullaballo or Shindig, but it's off now. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for posting...great song. Some 6 months ago a live performance of Andrea by the Sunrays was on YouTube...but was later removed. Whoever posted...PLEASE repost!!!! Thanks.

Murray even started them out wearing Pendleton shirts like the Beach Boys. Check out Rick Henn's "Girl on the Beach," for another great tune.

Rick Henn could blend some good voices. Too bad the lyrics don't flow better in the verses. The choruses are very good, but the verses are strained.
