HAHA! I don't blame you, I felt weird saying it. No on rare occasion I carry it clipped to the inside of a back brace, which when working hard gets pretty sweaty.
Hard to explain really, I sharpen it as I usually would, I just focus on that one little bit of recurve as I am finishing with each stone, much as you would focus on finishing your point. It is hard to expalain in writing. Perhaps I should make a video? It took me about 6 months worth of work to get my tequnique and tools right to produce the type of edge that I like (stupidly sharp)
I've had a 710HSSR since like 2000 and it's still my main EDC. I have tons of other knives, but there is just something about the 710. I really wish I picked up a couple 710HS's, as I'd rather have the plain edge (I got the combo edge). I'm glad I got the M2 steel when it was around, no rust issues, but I don't leave it sitting around in water.
Yes and I'm sure that some acids in the plant juice accellerated the corrosion. I have since used vinegar and mustard to apply some interesting petinas to Carbon steel knives to age and protect them.
slippery when wet... hehe ^_^

I've had staining on mine after cutting some plants in the garden and not rinsing it. Came off with metal polish though.

Thx for the comment, I wonder if the plant material acted as a catalyst for the spotting. Do you live in a humid envrionment?
