  • the UK is 113 km/h (7-mph) , other countries faster ( from 120 / 130 km/h)= Thaiwan, Ukraine, Switzerland, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia , Bulgaria, China, Czech , Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montana, Netherlands, Pakistan, Portugal, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, USA. (140 km/h)= Poland. Germany and the isle of man have some areas where there is no speed limit. Italy is going to increase to 150km/h (93 mph)

  • Can someone please explain to me why the rear wheels are still turning? The obvious answer is ABS but to my knowledge you never only fit ABS to the rear of the car you would fit it to the front or all four wheels because that is where it is most effective. The other option is this car was made without any rear breaks which again seems extremely unlikely.

Have they disabled the breaks in this advert to exaggerate the problem or is there something I have missed?

  • No one is that ignorant in real life.

  • Thats not even a real boy, how can we trust such an add

  • Darwinism at its finest. If the kid's too stupid to see a fucking car coming then he doesn't deserve to live.

  • @HorseRidingSheep

Social Darwinists really a deplorable bunch.

  • Comment removed

  • @will13vilaede HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA you are an idiot.

  • there are so many things wrong with that

the car must have weighed 9000 pounds to skid with out even slowing down

the back tires werent even slowing at all

the only way thats possible is if it was being pushed by something huge and even then it would slow.

  • New cars have got ABS though.

  • Fuck, where was his parents? Second, why is the kid jaywalking? I wish it was semi or SUV instead. If you do not value the life or yourself or your kids, then a death ticket is the cost paid.

  • @cshgeo because its not against the law in the UK

  • it doesnt have ABS.... its different now adays

  • I always do the speed limit but there are places the limit is stupid.

what moron does more than 25 in a town centre is beyond me anyway...

  • In america pedestrians have the right of way seeing as roads originally were used for people.....people do pushups in the street and theres not a damn thing you can do unless you want 25 years to life

  • keep your dumb kids on a leash, i always looked both ways when i was younger

  • Unfortunately Its always about the bad moment.. i was careful too when i was young but that doesn't mean anything... No that I am the driver I should be even more careful.

  • @ibeatu123 There is plenty of reasons a child might be in the street. But remember they are children, they don't have the cognitive ability of an adult. So, yeh, slow down.

  • no pelican crossing or zebra so wouldnt expect a toddler jumping around for a ball in the middle of the road specially drivers using that straight to read a newspaper or map, cant put all the blame on the driver parents are partly to blame too, kids should always use crossings ,be with parents and never chace anything into the road even if its a check for millions isnt worth your life, its preventable if the kid wasnt there in the first place we dont tell trains to slowdown

  • @oxboobooxo Reading newspaper or map? you would have to pull over for that, that would been worse then, the person wouldn't have tapped the brakes

  • Looks like someone could do with abs.

  • definitely. he would still have stopped where she says.

  • Learning HOW to brake would prevent it too yes..

  • @mmarkk1990 why does everyone think ABS will stop you quicker - it doesnt. ABS only enables you to brake hard AND steer to avoid a hazard

  • Correct- for the most part. A skidding wheel has less traction than one that's on the verge of skidding, but still rolling. If you can modulate braking pressure correctly, you can probably out-brake ABS. But in the situation in the video, the car is skidding, i.e. sliding along the tarmac. True, ABS keeps the wheels rolling so you can steer, but also keeps them near to/on the point of maximum friction, before the wheel skids and friction levels fall away.

  • a gangster thought he owned the road but, BUT, a car came from no where and claimed it. but i think the gangster won because he gets to go to hospital

  • if it wasnt for the speed limit people wouldnt have the urge to speed in the first place as it be boring like that dvd on the shelf that has only been played once its only because of continuous suppression that people spark and do somethng they regret we are all prone to this ,im a all or nothing type of person when i pop ill be doing 180mph down that road and most likely go out with a bang

  • why do people never look to the left and the right before they fucking step over

  • нехуй было где попало дорогу переходить

  • OMG it happen to Jenna she is 6 yrs old in near downtown in January 2006 she got hit by a car and she died. I saw her I was gr 5 in my elementary school.

    :O

  • Oh god i couldnt watch after the poor child got hit it made me feel sick imagine if that was your younger cousine or sibling . just drive within the freakin speed limit

  • Roads are made for and paid for by motorists. Tell the stupid pedestrians to think before they cross.

  • roads are made and paid for by Tax Payers. Its clear they were driving to fast to cope with the unexpected. Its not someone fault they got hit by a horrible driver.

  • To all who think "what's a child doing in the road anyway," how much comfort will that rhetorical question be to you if you find yourself having hit a pedestrian as badly as in this video?

It happens. People appear in the street. How about caring about not hitting them, whether they're supposed to be there or not?

How about you just save yourself the stress (and your gas money) by driving slowly when you're in areas with a lot of people?

  • Stupid kid! Get the fuck out of the road.

  • stupid driver!!! get the fuck out of the roads!

  • *child is what i meant to say in my last comment lol

  • what was the cild doing on the road in the firstplace?

  • u stupid 1 rule in road always espect the anespected

  • .... What.

  • @chublets Right...because 'cilds' shouldn't be allowed to cross roads...

  • Think look both ways or you will die.And diserve too, walking in front of car in the first place you crazy loon!!!!!!

  • Good ad, but...

    1. It is NOT a crossing, the child should not have been in the road in the first place.

    2. The driver makes several mistakes, the wheels are locked for a VERY long time. Locked wheels are much less effective at slowing a car.

    3. Since its a non-abs car, he should have pumped the brake.

    4. The car is over 10 years old, meaning brakes in it are, well rubbish by todays standards.

NB. Front brakes are responsible for nearly all of brakeing force. Rear wheels should not lock.

  • Agreed, but the message of the ad gets through very well too. I was just plain shocked when I noticed the difference in stopping.

  • yes but people should still drive within the sppeed limit.

  • Wat are u talking about target 555 People shuld speed down the road at 100 mph hitting kids all day >:]

  • No, that was more like another 50 feet from where they said it would stop at 30

  • 21 feet

  • Most of people gets shocked while they are in a situation like this.

  • It seems a little unrealistic for such a small car to take so long to stop. I could be wrong but at 35 mph even an SUV could stop sooner. Plus the driver didn't even try to steer out of the way which almost everyone would have done. I know the car didn't have ABS but still the wheels remained straight. I guess they were going for shock factor instead of reality in the commercial.

  • @dman090951 not really, SUV are heavier, meaning, they would take longer,

  • this was filmed near where i live , marks gate i think

  • ahh i see, they used the pegieon to hide the transition between the kid and a doll.

  • That is really clever when the kid changes into a dummy. These adverts are BRILLIANT!

  • ...So 1) no car on Earth SKIDS 52 feet at 35 mph - even with the crappest tyres, unless 2) that car has 250kg of sand bags in the boot to make it skid so far. Good physics, "true" I'm sure, but a distortion/lie. I like the way a bunch of pigeons flap in front of the boy when he changes into a dummy.

  • Sorry total skid is 10.5 x height a man dressed in black (at "here") = 52.5 feet. It's the extra skid distance (assuming woman is correct saying "here") is 7 x 5 feet, or about 35 feet.

  • 35mph? Come on! The car started skidding AFTER the front wheel disappeared from view for the first time. The skid distance was SEVEN TIMES the height of the guy dressed in black. Assuming the guy dressed in black is 5 feet tall (less than he really was, to allow for perspective), 7 x 5 feet = 35 feet. See next comment for the analysis...

  • that's slightly truamtizing...O_o. Violence.

  • It was a straight road so surely he'd have more time to see the kid step out. If not, then the kid obviously should NOT have been crossing the road without looking properly. These adverts are all so unrealistic. Also notice how NO ONE is looking at the car with screeching tyres!?

  • are you serious?

cus in real life that will happen in just a second or two... and anyway people are looking at the car; the runner and guy with the dog for a start

  • I think sum people don't understand... this ad is showing an emergency brake on standard tyres on a dry surface... pumping the brakes... someones been playing to many racing games... YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO PUMP THE BRAKE!!! Also Anti- brake lock systems do wat pumping the brake would do but much more efficiently making skidding less of a chance

  • And if they just drove on the correct side of the street like we do in the USA the little crash test dummy kid wouldn't have been hit at all!

  • Oh do shut up!

  • We drive on the correct side of the road, not you. You got influenced by Napoleon and changed. Everyone was on the left before that. It's actually more natural to drive on the left anyway. 2 billion people are on the left so think about it dumbass.

  • Hahahah honestly, if the driver had actually known how to use the brake pedal and not locked the front wheels up, it would've stopped MUCH sooner. Thank god America doesn't have a stick in its about speed like nanny-state Britain.

  • I would like to see you pump the breaks in a situation like this, you really think you would do otherwise? Slamming on the breaks is what mostly all people do in a panicced situation.

  • You=retard.

  • What are you talking about, can you even drive? I very much doubt it coming up with comments like that, stopped much sonner, yeah sure whatever you say mate.

  • HAHAHAHA WAHT AN IDIOT

  • ceratainly makes you think
