God bless him, man. I'm glad Rick's still going at it. I saw him at the Wheaton Bowl (Wheaton, IL) in the early 90s, and it was a good time. There was a "special needs" teenager off to the side of the stage, and man, that kid was f'n dancin' like I've never never seen anyone dance since. There's something kitschy about being an impersonator of any sort, but that doesn't make what Rick does any less FUN. I'm 36 now and living in NYC, but if he was performing here I'd make a point of seeing him.
I see Rick Saucedo is now using the Expense Account Showband. I guess he had enough of the band he was using (Change of Habit). I guess the band has not improved, but got worse.
Rick still will be playing with the Change of Habit Band later this year. Rick cycles through 3 different bands: The Ambassadors, Change of Habit, and Exspense Account. Rick had spent the last 2 summers with C.O.H. and wanted to refresh his format a little. He'll be the first to tell you C.O.H has improved since 2 years ago. The band Rick uses depends on whether or not the band is available, the material Rick plans on doing, and several other factors.
rick's hair does grows faster than most guys I know...and in this video it's about as long as it's been in the last 10 years, but it's really more of an illusion here because when you see him in person and look at photos from this show, he has it styled differently before & after the show. rick also bases some things off of photos, like here he had seen a photo of elvis in the peacock suit where his hair was really fluffed out and looked really long, so he tried to copy the photo for this show.
Yes it is...that would be because of some of the band, not Rick...as you can tell by when the band plays the opening before Rick enters the stage...but since this show took place, the Change of Habit Band has greatly improved.
It's testament to the talent of guys like Rick that other ETA's look to artists like Rick as an example of how a tribute should be done...............if you want to do it right!
Well, for the sake of not having so many incorrect facts on this video. I'll fix the mistakes you've made. Not a high school auditorium, but an expansive, large dinner showroom in a small, quiet, nice town in Indiana, in front of a near sellout crowd watching the best Elvis tribute artist, followed by Denny Diamond, the best Neil Diamond tribute artist in the Midwest, put on an excellent show. After someone sees so many bad ETAs, it ruins the fun & excitement when you see a good one like Rick.
ah, the guitar...yeah rick had the traditional black dove guitar for this show, but someone goofed and didn't have it on stage in time for rick when he walked on.
i did, as well as rick himself...to make a long story short, he forgot his guitar in the car, and when i went to get it outside, i got locked out through the backstage door and missed the beginning of the show.
Plus..isn't it funny...I know for a fact that doctored2 happens to be Nick..the bass player for COH. I just found that out from one of their own MEMBERS....nice try NICK. Of course you think you are the best...YOU ARE IN THE BAND. Though it should be called the Change of Tempo band.
I don't want to get into the middle of the COH/EAS rivalry. They've both got their strengths and weaknesses. Yes, EPE has EAS as their band, but EPE isn't something to brag about when it comes to ETA's...declaring Shawn Klush the winner was the first right thing they did in that field.
Am I a member of EAS? I wish. I saw them in Memphis and they were fantastic. If COH is so good, why hasn't Graceland made COH their official band. Secondly, why is EAS the official band for Graceland / EPE. Only the best work for Graceland. COH is ok..don't get me wrong. But they do not come close to the sound of EAS. That is fact.
good thing he's not recognized by EPE, he's too good for that...EPE's standards aren't very high, considering their top 10 eta picks consists of 2 good ones, 3 decent ones, and the rest all out suck
i was at EPE's ultimate contest...it was missing many of the best ETA's out there, but that was because they know to stay away from EPE. Like you said, Rick is too good for EPE and he's above having to do contests to get anywhere - he's already shown what he can do with Broadway and performing on many of the same stages Elvis himself performed on
Since you are not mentioning names, I would think that you are like me and saying that Jeff Golden is one of the good ones. He was the best singer there (has a 4 to 5 octave range)If you check out his you tube, he also looks more like Elvis than any of the others. He has studied Elvis for many years and does the moves as close as possible, none of that jerky stuff.
jeff golden was alright...definately better than most of those guys in the contest, i'd say out of those 10 guys, he would be #5, behind shawn klush, donny edwards, brandon bennett, and gino monopoli
hair's been cut, he lets it grow starting in spring and always gets it cut when fall comes. he does earlier elvis and early '70s elvis. And he's lost a lot of weight and continues to do so, widescreen video makes him look heavier than he really is, he's in pretty good shape
The Elvis guy is remarkable. Too bad the band sucks. Everything is fast and it sounds like a garage band. Rick needs to get a new bunch of musicians behind him.
I was in Memphis for the Graceland contest and I saw the EAS band. They were incredible. Like I was listening to the actual TCB Band. THAT is who Saucedo should have as his band.
Rick performed with EAS for a long time until about 3 years ago. Now he performs mostly with this band, the Change of Habit Band (which has actually improved since this video) and now he's reunited with his original band from the 70's, The Ambassadors, he'll be performing with them in a couple months
true...i have heard many bad ETA bands, the Change of Habit Band has been playing with Rick for about 3 years and every year has been much better than before...they learn more songs each year and play it better
I just think from what I heard with EAS in Memphis, Rick would sound 100% better with them. I did some research and found out that they are actually Graceland's band. I then did more research of this Change of Habit band and I personally dislike everything I heard.
Change of Habit is the best I have seen. They back all to best ETAs around the country. You don't get that work if you suck.I see that they are performing at the Lake George Fest. They must They select the best band out there.
I don't know what you are listening to but this band is one of if not the best in the business. They perform with the best ETAs out there. EAS has changed most of their members, they are not very good anymore
Rick played with EAS for the first time in 4 years about a month ago. Change of Habit was unavailable. They weren't as good as they used to be. There were 2 new people. However in Memphis at the Ultimate Contest, they sounded alright, but lately different places alternate every year between EAS & COH, but now COH is starting to take over
i've been talking to people that were at this show and they loved it, they say it was as close as they could come this day and age to going to an elvis concert...rick's the best in the midwest
The only thing close to being at an actual Elvis concert is Rick. Not the band. I hate to bash here because I really do respect musicians who go out there and perform, but they sound NOTHING like Elvis' band. More like a garage band trying to play Elvis music.
I was at this concert, it was worth the wait for Rick, it was a great show. I got to meet Rick after the show at the autograph signing and it's great how much he puts into his show and how strongly he feels about honoring Elvis.
