You may not think it would be an issue for someone portraying a bi-sexual man to be an out actor, however he does have to consider the rest of his career as well. Unfortunately many out actors still have a hard time being stereotyped. I actually find Thore's constant harping about his hetro status more disturbing than Jo wanting privacy.

Apparently Jo wants to keep his relationship private. If he wanted us to know whether he was in a relationship with a man or a woman he would have said so in a interview.( I'm sad that his relationship ended. When playing bi character, that is almost the 1st question from people. He said that implies that hetero./homo/bi are Not equally normal. He stated that he was not going to answer that question any more because it really isn't relevant....His personal life is personal.

Poor Jo; he so did not look like he wanted to answer the "relationship" question, but, Thore did, so it kinda awkwardly made it Jo's "turn" to "answer". He also was probably feeling bad having just celebrated his 5 years anniversary, and denying that happy milestone probably felt wrong to his relationship and partner, so he fessed up.

I found an much earlie inteview of Jo Weil where at the time he said he was not gay but did not rule it out for the future. Then In a more recent interview, in Canada, he said that he had played several years of a straight character and no one asked if he was straight. He said he would no longer answer that question because the question implies gay/bi orientations are not normal. I respect that answer immensely!
Its pretty obvious that Jo is gay/bi and he has/had a boyfriend. But its also obvious that whoever he is he the boyfriend- doesnt want the publicity and exposure of it. Thats just my opinion obviously. The interview was so water clear.

Jo is very cute, and in my opinion I think he's gay (like I think Kevin Spacey and Ben Wishaw are gay) but even if he is it's still such an issue in acting and casting I completely understand the decision not to talk about it. Openly gay actors get sidelined by the industry- because regardless of the character they put a lot of importance on women fantasizing about the actor.

I have watched all of Ollian's kissing scenes. I've never seen either Thore or Jo seem more awkward or uncomfortable than the other, unless the script called for it as in the beginning when Christian was uncomfortable kissing Oliver in public places. Of course he would, the Christian character wasn't as comfortable as Oliver was to just put it out there, at that point.
I have never seen where Thore playing Christian seemed uncomfortable or awkward if the scene didn't ask for it.
I agree. Both of their acting is so great, I couldn't sense any awkwardness. It may fall under "desensitizing" to new experiences. Three cheers to Jo and Thore. I think it's impossible to try and guess their sexualities based on videos cause they could very well be acting the suspicious mood to it in order to keep the huge gay fan base they have or just as well it could be real and they do have a crush or whatever, my point is you can't really tell since you never know how rehearsed or not is their act outside the set. I think Jo and Thore are both very cool guys. Maybe people want to speculate about their sexuality, but more and more young people don't care too much about labels as gay and straight. They just want to live their lives. And so long as people don't discriminate against gay people and minorities, I don't think they should have to make their private lives public.

Thore is an amazing actor... Jo too :) They are a great pair on the show and even when they are just doing interviews, you can tell they have a great friendship. I think that friendship is what makes their performances so powerful.

Jo and Thore are actors. If Christian was meant to be less manly, Thore would play him less manly. Viewers need to separate the actors from the characters. If Jo and Thore were gay in real life, that's no guarantee that they would be good at playing Christian and Oliver. Jo and Thore are good actors who portray a convincing love story that has NOTHING to do with who the Actors are in real life. Gay actors successfully portray straight characters all the time. There's no difference.
That's right, good actor should a playing everything, but that as though is anybody gay in real life, that doesn't mean as though mightn't truly very well a playing gay characters.
So Thore is straight, and was in the military. That explains why he come across so masculine on VL. I must say, he's a very good (and sexy) actor. Christian and Olli's relationship seems genuine. You can really empathize with Christian's emotional turmoil as he comes to grip with his feelings for Olli.

There is a spoiler picture for the Feb 16th episode including Olli, but that's definitely not the first time he appears back on the show.

I thought at least in my eyes that Jo and Thore were reluctant to discuss Jo's private life because he wants to keep his homosexuality private. I found an much earlie inteview of Jo Weil where at the time he said he was not gay but did not rule it out for the future. Then In a more recent interview, in Canada, he said that he had played several years of a straight character and no one asked if he was straight. Both are great actors, their faces are very expressive, and it's almost impossible to discover if Jo or Thore are or not gay judging it by one interview.
I'd love if they were more than good friends in real life, of course, it will be like a dream come true!! Jo is very cute, and in my opinion I think he's gay (like I think Kevin Spacey and Ben Wishaw are gay) but even if he is it's still such an issue in acting and casting I completely understand the decision not to talk about it. Openly gay actors get sidelined by the industry- because regardless of the character they put a lot of importance on women fantasizing about the actor.

I have watched all of Ollian's kissing scenes. I've never seen either Thore or Jo seem more awkward or uncomfortable than the other, unless the script called for it as in the beginning when Christian was uncomfortable kissing Oliver in public places. Of course he would, the Christian character wasn't as comfortable as Oliver was to just put it out there, at that point.
I have never seen where Thore playing Christian seemed uncomfortable or awkward if the scene didn't ask for it.

I think it's impossible to try and guess their sexualities based on videos cause they could very well be acting the suspicious mood to it in order to keep the huge gay fan base they have or just as well it could be real and they do have a crush or whatever, my point is you can't really tell since you never know how rehearsed or not is their act outside the set. I think Jo and Thore are both very cool guys. Maybe people want to speculate about their sexuality, but more and more young people don't care too much about labels as gay and straight. They just want to live their lives. And so long as people don't discriminate against gay people and minorities, I don't think they should have to make their private lives public.

Thore is an amazing actor... Jo too :) They are a great pair on the show and even when they are just doing interviews, you can tell they have a great friendship. I think that friendship is what makes their performances so powerful.

Jo and Thore are actors. If Christian was meant to be less manly, Thore would play him less manly. Viewers need to separate the actors from the characters. If Jo and Thore were gay in real life, that's no guarantee that they would be good at playing Christian and Oliver. Jo and Thore are good actors who portray a convincing love story that has NOTHING to do with who the Actors are in real life. Gay actors successfully portray straight characters all the time. Something big, hummnn, I suspect they are either going to get married at the cabin by the lake, or adopt a child, what ever it is, as long as the writers don't mess with my boys it will be OK.

who cares if any of them are gay or straight in real-life! it shouldnt matter really! they are both extremely attractive and have nice personalities! im a gay/bi person, and to be honest im totally in love with thore! but if hes straight or bi with a girlfriend, its not that im ever gonna have a chance with him so it really doesnt matter! y should it?! VL is one of the best gay soaps to date, we all need 2 thank them for their great courage in acing their roles, they are both amzing! accaptance

Yeap, I think you are right, i don´t know why, but I have this feeling insidem that tells me that somehow they started to feel something for each other on real life. I´m pretty sure they have had sex or something. Regards from Mexico city.

You might confuse him with Igor Dolgatschew alias Deniz from AWZ who is married. The couple even recently had a baby together.
