Both are my favorite players. Just wondering though , do these guys do this for a living. I mean don't they have to work at real jobs., or is this all they do all day, click, click , and click
@30inventionman Kasparov made around 30 million $ at least that I know of. Also he made quite a name for himself and is now pursuing a political office in Russia. Karpov did quite well too. I'd quit what I'm doing if I was as good as they were...
from like 0:40 to 0:50 seconds Kasparov is covering his mouth and I bet he is just covering a big huge smile being like "i totally just won this game"
@johnmilo117 Karpov made a mistake so kasparov could switch the knights leaving two pawns against nothing for Kasparov. thats the latest time to resign that match
@dovespin1 Not exactly.in 1984 match Karpov was ahead 5-0 after 31 games,the 32 game limited match whould have given him an overall win.Kasparov won the last game in 1987 match and tired the score at 4-4.Kasparov won in 1985(5-3),in 1986(5-4) and in 1990(4-3)So 21 to 19 it is realy close rivalry.Karpov dominated everyone else i would say from the 1973 untill 1984.Both of them are legend.I thinke even today Garry would have given everyone(Karlsen,Anand e.t.c) trouble
@aleksandrpondios Yes you agree Kasparov won 4 matches. He won given the rules of engagement. Ties are victories for the champion. The 1984 match rules were agreed upon by the players and FIDE. Karpov would've won in 1984 had the match been shorter, but it wasn't. I'm not sure where the "not exactly" comes from. It cannot be disputed that Karpov is comparable in strength to Kasparov, but Kasparov won every single title match with Karpov. That was my point when talking about rivalry.
@dovespin1.You said it was not a rivalry.1984 5-3.1987 4-4 a draw.Garry won 3 matches of 5.I have not to agree o disagree with you.It is a fact.Have a nice day
@aleksandrpondios Sorry I misspoke. Kasparov didn't win 4 matches. He won 3 title matches against Karpov. The match in 1984 was nullified by Karpov's friend Campomanes so it doesn't exist and there was no result. the drawn match in 87 was won by Kasparov by the rules of the match. Like I said Karpov is comparable in strength but never won a match against Kasparov. You also have a great day! Oh I think Karpov did win a little 4 game rapid mini-match against Kasparov about 10 years ago.
For those who dont understand his last move was a fork between the knight and the king. Karpov had no choice but to take the Knight and after Gary takes that Knight its over from there thats why Karpov resigns.
that set looks almost exactly like mine maple and mahogany board but i my peices are the rosewood and boxwood ultimate staunton from chess baron...a swell pickup...does any1 know what they are using?

Needed: Pretentious commentary (preferably British) in hushed tones explaining WTF is going on. I'd settle for a Steadycam.

Despite playing in 4 champ matches, there really was no K-K rivalry. Kasparov always won. But to his credit, Karpov dominated everyone else.
