My family has served for many years... My grandpa is a Marine, my Father was in the Army, and my brother was in the air force.... my dad was in Iraq for what seemed like forever, and i hope to be a marine or army ranger, and i can't help but think that when i cry to this. I'm not as strong with out my family. God bless you all who serve.
@PenguinSoldier26: I'm sorry that had to happen to you. Many of us return to this kind of despair thinking war's out over there when it's actually in here, with our families being torn apart by what we do and where the ARMY, NAVY, MARINES are taking us to. It takes a understanding and persistent person to be married to a soldier. As a fellow OIF/OEF vet, I also thank you for your courageous sacrifices and your desire to serve where many have fallen.
5 years... I was 18 years old when I left to Afghanistan, and everyday I watched as a soldier went home either a broken man or covered in a brand new flag. But I cant remember a single one being sorry for fighting. When I left a second time I lost my wife through a divorce... I was devastated. But when I got back I found a new, and better wife and could not be happier... sometimes you have to loss something in order to get something better later on.
DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP I AM NOT HERE, I DO NOT SLEEP I AM THE THOUSAND WINDS THAT BLOW I AM THE DIAMOND GLINTS ON SNOW I AM THE SUNLIGHT ON RIPENED GRAIN I AM THE GENTLE AUTUMN RAIN WHEN YOU AWAKE IN MORNINGS HUSH I AM THE SWIFT UPLIFTING RUSH OF QUIET BIRDS IN CIRCLED FLIGHT I AM THE SOFT STAR THAT SHINES AT NIGHT DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND CRY i AM HERE. i DID NOT DIE.
brings me to tears every time i watch it let no one for get the ones who gave all and the ones that made it back god bless the USA and her troops john 15:13 grater love hath no man than this to lay down his life for that of his brothers amen
I am a U.S. Army Vet... I toured in OEF 7 through Afghanistan, and a bunch of other places I can't pronounce. I left with a wife, a son, a family that loved me, and a division of soldiers that knew me by name. I came home to a dead Grandpa, divorce paperwork, a restraining order from my son, discharge orders and a much smaller division. While watching your video I cried for the first time in about 12 years... Thank you for your support!
@PenguinSoldier26 Many blessings to you for your service and many hugs for the turmoil you suffered upon your return. I just pray you know that there are MANY people who support our troops and everything they do! *hugs*
@PenguinSoldier26 God Bless you for your service don't give up this old vet respects you and thanks you your time will come the blessings are yours they are on the way don't stop believing . @PenguinSoldier26 Sir I'm a 16 year old from Virginia and your story makes me sick I thank god for your service and I can't help but hurt for you....I'm so sorry but everything will be okay
@PenguinSoldier26 I may not be a American, but thank you for your service that you have done and scacrifice for your family and your country. you have put yourself in harms ways and that is something that people should be thank full off. god bless you great sir. and the blessing of the freedom you have protected.
@PenguinSoldier26 bro i know what you mean i myself did two tours loss lot of men i called my brothers and i came to just to get dumped by my gf who i was engaged to but stay strong
@PenguinSoldier26 That hard and pointless for your family to do....you were probably a wonderful soldier currently an awesome person and you didn't deserve that BS but oh well they dont deserve you i there life and im sure the person that did get you in there life is very happy to have you in there life.
@PenguinSoldier26 just because the soldier doesn't die in battle doesn't mean he/she is not a combat casualty! us vets need to stand together because no one can crawl around inside our heads other than one of our brothers or sisters. God bless you stay strong brother!
@PenguinSoldier26 Keep your head up man... My baby boy is going on 9 months old and I've only gotten to spend about 5 hours total with him since the day he was born... I know your pain... Just keep your head up and push forward and do what you must to be with him... Daddy loves you Elijah, and I miss you.
This song reminds me of a very close friend of mine that was like a brother to me that died in Iraq in 2006. His Birthday was today and he would have been 27. I miss him everyday and i'm so Proud of what he did for this Country! Anyone at war now or planning to be in it, Stay Safe! <3 R.I.P Henry... Never Forgotten <3
Thank you to all the members of our army forced. To those who lost their lives, have sevred, are sevring, and will be saving. I pray one day we will no long have to go to war.
I'm not going to have some comment about how sad it is because it does not bring me sadness, it brings me pride. If any soldier dies, then, yes mourn, but remember that he or she knew what they were doing and I'm sure they wouldn't regret a minute of it. A wonderful song with a wonderful meaning.
i lost my my best friend scott AKA Boots he will always be loved and i will fight for him tommorrow as he fought for me yesterday i love you brother watch over me please as i fight for the right country
@tjensen2110 Your doing what I always wanted to, unfortunately I was born with a messed up upper leg and hip. I pray for you and those who fight with you! God bless and good luck!
Will all of you, please be willing to donate your status for just a few minutes to HONOR a fallen Marine who's just passed away while serving our country? Cpl. Derek Wyatt (USMC) died Dec 6 while serving in Afghanistan. He leaves behind a wife and a newborn son named in his honor, who was born approx 24 hours after news of his death. Repost to honor this Hero and his family
Tribute to my uncle who passed from this world one year ago today (Feb 3rd). A hero does not always fly Nor is he always bulletproof Saving lives without the cape or tights He fought to protect, nonetheless The lives he changed as an average Joe Showed the world the power of one Wore a uniform for his nation with his brothers He served and defended all he loved Bearing the eagle, globe, and anchor This man breathed the red, white, and blue He was a real life hero He was my hero
DemmiXxX may the Lord take you in his arms and give you the strength to let go one day. The pain you feel is beyond any we can even begin to imagine, your soldier gave everything and we salute him..
Rest in peace Cain....i miss you so much baby Its been 4 years and I still feel so alone, I dont think anyone will ever measure up to you, just wish I could bring you back, It hurts too much Cain, I cant accept it. For 4 years I been telling myself your on deployment, its the only way i can cope.
I Really Respect The US Army, Marines, SEALS all of the corps fighting with there lifes for the Country Rest Easy Heroes Your all Remembered Becoming Legends you
I almost never comment on videos but this video was different from others. My father was a. soldier from 1975 to 1981 and again from 1982 to 1989. He answered the call twice but never saw combat. He lost his battle with Lung Cancer over the summer in 2011. Please do not only thank combat veterans for what they sacrificed but anyone who was, and continues to be willing to answer the call so we may sleep safely. God Bless America, God Bless our Armed Forces and may God Bless the World...
If you watch this, and you aren't moved in someway...there is something wrong! God bless those who serve, have served, and those who have fallen in service <3 my heart goes out to all families who have lost someone close to them in action!
This is to remember my Dad, Merrill, who passed away on February 6, 2006 and my sister, Paula, who passed away on October 3, 2010. Both of them were full of life. I will always miss them. My prayers go out to all who have lost loved ones...
I have yet to lose anyone to the war and I hope I never do specially with all of the people i love and care about that are in the military but I did lose my grandfather a year ago on march 8th and he was a marine. I love and miss him so very much...
i lost my fiance John 2 years ago he was a marine my heart still breaks when i hear this song his little brother is over there fighting and i hope he makes it back and thank you all for kind words
@SemperFi841985 Semper Fi. Im sorry for your loss. Remember him, honor him. He will always be watching over you. Marines are forever, he will never be forgotten. He will live on with you and the marines he served with, we never forget our brothers. It may not mean much but i bet there is a platoon full with his name tatooed somewhere. I have 3 that i wish i didnt have. God bless
To all the mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, cousins, aunts, fathers, brothers, sons and friends who have lost someone who was fighting for this country, I salute you. You're the strongest of the strong. Heaven needed someone to protect them, just as we needed them to protect us while we were here.
I just lost my oldest brother recently to these wars , i proudly salute the military , i plan to join the army rangers just like my brother and be just like him , to my best friend , i miss you ;(
Exquisite Job on Video Tribute and All These Comments. I said it before and i will Always keep saying it: GOD BLESS U.S. FORCES, OF ALL-TIMES AND THIER FAMILIES, GOD BLESS THE AMERICAN DREAM.
To Army 1st Lt. Dustin Vincent, best brother in law anyone could ask for and brave and honourabale soldier. You gave it all for your country and I wont ever forget that. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to get to know you. You will be missed Vince... Rest in peace.
Today its one year since i lost my friend in Afghanistan, even though we never met in real life and He lived in the US and im from Sweden he taught me alot! I will never forget him, nor will I forget everything he taught me. R.I.P my friend!
One day we'll all see those heroes, and when I go into the afterlife, I'll greet each and every one of them I meet with a smile and extreme gratitude that their sacrifice saved all of us.
I am a veteran who served in Iraq, and I have lost brothers and sisters. I may have not known all of them, but I have known my share of amazing individuals who have given their lives for our country, for us. I will never forget the ones who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. I live everyday for them and their families, because they have given me the chance to do so. Heaven has the greatest hero's of our generation, the bravest generation. One day I will see them again.
I lost a great friend in iraq. i was supposed to go on a convoy and he took my place and the vehicle that he was in got blown by an I.E.D the one i was supposed to be in. i salute him everyday of my life. thats the things us soldiers go thru in war and come to findout when i got got home after it happened wondering why it happened that away, i came home to a beautiful newborn baby girl. then thats when i found out why it happened that away. things work in the most mysterious ways
i am very sorry that your friend died!! my brother almost lost his life in an I.E.D two of the men he was with lost their lives in that I.E.D. :( once again i am very sorry your friend died!
Why is there 52 dislikes? This a tribute to me and my fellow soldiers and yes i am a soldier. Iv fought for you and your rights and iv been to hell and back for you so respect all the soldiers INCLUDING ME and dont dislike a military tribute.
Soldiers go to the war they didn't make, risking their lives to help bring peace. Like Martin Luther King, Jr., they sometimes lose their lives in the cause of making the world safer. I love them all.
I lost my dad, Alain Budge in February 2011. He is my best friend, my hero. I miss him everyday and will continue to miss him until we are together again. Please be with me always dad, I can't make it without you. You are and always will be my hero. Until we are together again dad, I'll never forget.
@cabudge09 I serve in the Army right now, Ive lost great men that stood at my side. You and your family are in my prayers. Even though we dont know anything about each other we both know the pain of loosing some of the best people in the world.
@cabudge09 I TOO LOST MY DAD MAY 28TH 1956 AND A DAY DOESN'T GO BY WITHOUT THINKING OF HIM. 56 YEARS AND STILL MISSING HIM. HE IS ALWAYS WITH ME IN MY HEART AND YOUR DAD WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU. IT IS VERY HARD NOW BUT MEMORIES WILL KEEP HIM ALIVE. GOD BLESSS.
@cabudge09 Please forgive me for butting in but I was spiritually moved by your comment about your dear Dad. You will indeed meet your Dad again when we all meet in God's eternal Kingdom. You will embrace him again on that great Day. I just said a prayer for you. In the meantime, until that great Resurrection Day, may your dear Dad's Soul and all the Souls of the departed, through the mercy of Almighty God, rest in peace. May you find peace and comfort in that hope!
Hi, I'm from Belize. We don't have an army here we only have a defense force, however I salute to all the fallen and standing soldiers of the US arm forces fighting overseas!!!!!! I know how it feels to loose a love one.God bless Belize and God bless America!!!!
i wish i would of never let you go at the airport dad :"C it has been so long sence i have seen you sence i have herd your vocie seen your face dad you are my hero i really hope you pround of me now im trying to get into the army but not working out im going to work as a truck driver dad im sorry im not what you wanted me to be
@Xperiments101 Don't give up on your dreams, I know sometimes there will be obstacles in your path..I don't know you but I feel for you and know that you really want to please your dad....my advice to yo..don't give up buddy!!!! .............P.S..i KNOW YOUR DAD IS STILL PROUD OF YOU REGARDLESS!!!!!!
@Xperiments101 I know this advice may hurt but trust me I learned the hard way. I went to the Army. I have been to Iraq and Afghanistan. I did everything I have done because people told I could not do it. My father gave me a hard time at times and still does. I learned a lesson. Be what you want to be. If you do something to make someone else happy you have nothing. You always need something else to be happy. Be what you want to be and you will see you will find it more
@Maverick091204 exactly. for people who have never experienced having your best friend or family member gone all the time and cherishing the moments you finally see them, its a blessing and you hold onto that last time you saw them and hope you can see them again. anyone who disliked this clearly has no feeling our honor or respect for the men and women serving or their families and thats a shame because without them, you would have no right to have your own opinion or even be safe.
this is sooo beautiful. i thank everyone who serves now and served in the past. without the sacrifices you guys/girls make, the U.S. wouldnt be a safe place to call home. my friend is in the Army and i hope he returns safe because i can only imagine the pain of these families and friends and it would be devastating. i know when i hug him i cant let go because idk if it will be the last time :'( but ily justin and come home soon....
I lost friends in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and 911. There is no friend who waits any longer?? No I say to any soldiers. Live and return back to home. Everybody family, friend and brother. And, let's start again with family. I'll wait you. I'd thank my lucky stars, to be living here today. God bless the U.S.A. Happy new year 2012.
Whoever disliked this then you do not know what hell our Soldier's, and there families go through at all so go ahead, and dislike all you want because you have no heart, I have family in the military and I do care about them alot. I salute you soldier's, and I will always stand up and salute you both past and present soldier's. RIP all who died and may god bless you all, and may god bles our soldier's and there families.
@ComradFish Though I stood opposite of your country during the Cold War,I still respect those who fought and died to protect your Motherland.I learned that they were alot like us.To protect those they loved,to return home alive.Political ideologies don't really mean much to those of us who have put it on the line.
R.I.P. Sgt Bryant 10/21/11 I love you dad, your my motivation and courage for me joining the Armed Services. I love you and miss you greatly, I wish you could have met your grandson who is about to be born any day now...I love you dad <3
He walked a rocky road. Attacked from all sides, he forged on, risking his life every day to save the lives of others. He was the great protector, loyal to us all. In the end, he was killed but will be remembered always as a hero.
Who was he? Jesus?
Close. He was a soldier.
"There is no greater gift a man can give then to lay down his life for a friend." ~ Jesus Christ
I love you all so much!!! I know your watching over me each and everyday. Words could never express how much I wish you all were here for Christmas on Sunday and my graduation in June. <3
To those that dislike you have the right because of those that gave their lives. I hope you realize that even though we disagree sometimes this nation is still the only hope humanity has. We are not perfect but we try. Only one perfect man walked this earth. It was not you or I.
Greeting's from Russia,my words might not mean much but I honor all those men that didn't make it back to America. They will be surely missed by many. They fought for there country, your country just like soldiers here in Russia they fight for our future and to maintaine the present.I salute all those who died R.I.P.
@ComradFish So true, A soldier is a Brother no matter what side you are on. No Soldier Wants war, But they know that sometime it is necessary, I respect all soldiers who fight and die for their country. regardless of the reasons for war. the soldier pays the price. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To all soldiers.
@ComradFish Thank you for your words. It means a lot especially coming from somebody in another country across seas. They fight for our freedom, and even home, they never stop fighting. Thank you.
We are fighting for American freedom. I salute all the fallen soldiers past and present. I 'm very honor to be part of this great Armed Force to all the soldiers who die for America's freedom. Thanks you guys, you guys are the heros and I honor you guys.
God Bless you SPC. Christian C. Schulz. July 29, 1982 to July 11, 2003. I lost my first boyfriend and fiance to a gunshot in Iraq, friendly fire. I thought of him today and found this lovely song and video. Thanks for posting it. His sister is finally getting rid of his car and I am trying to get enough money together to buy it from her because I can't bear to let it go. God Bless all the soldiers and their families.
RIP Capt. Waid C. Ramsey & Staff Sergeant Michael W. Hosey! I fight in honor of both of you, and every other fallen soldier!! Ya'll may be gone but NONE of you are forgotten!!! *PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN SOLDIER*
I honor one of my brothers in arms, Col. Rick Rescorla, Ret, who fought bravely during vietnam and gave his life to save the lve of 2700 fellow Americans in WTC tower 2 on 9/11, a true Army Officer I look up to even though I never met him.
Beautiful tribute. Thanks for posting. As our troops come home, lets help make sure they get all the help they need. Please check out my video and song, Soldier Boy (search Stu Aspinall). I wrote the song after being inspired by the story of a young soldier who came home fighting PTSD and eventually lost that battle. I am donating proceeds from every song download to programs that help soldiers and their families fight PTSD. Thank you for your support! ...and Thank you to soldiers everywhere!
I am a U.S. Army Veteran and currently working towards my B.A. in Studio Art. I am creating a commemoration piece which can be seen on facebook by searching for Left. Left. Left. Right, left. Youtube will not allow me to post the link.
Those of you who have lost a relative or friend in OIF / OEF and wish to commemorate and honor their service as part of my installation, please fill out the form found by googling laboratorio di giuseppe
I miss my great uncle. he was a Korean war vet. he was awarded the purple heart and the bronze star for bravery. He carried out his buddy while taking fire and a bullet in his arm. He inspired me to join the USMC. R.I.P. Bruce. We all miss you. im fighting for you, oorah!!
I miss my son SPC DON NICHOLS R.I.P. 4-13-11 Not a day, second or minute goes by that you are not in my heart and on my mind. I do not know how to heal from this, how can a mother go on living after her son is gone???
I miss you Brother there is not a day that goes by that i don't try to thank you for what you did for our country.. I'll make sure to bring those flowers by like i promised, I miss you so much John, R.I.P January 5th, 1985, July 16th 2008
My brother is one of those HERO'S but I would give anything to have him back with me....I love you and miss you so much MSgt. Adam Benjamin....Semper Fi...
This is perfect for our fallen soldiers, but their are others who it fits for - like fallen police and firefighters. My uncle had been a Fire Chief and the water used to put out fires had mercury, which caused him to contract brain cancer. He died in 2008.
r.i.p Cpl David M Unger..K.I.A 10-17-2006. love you big bro. only 22 and you had to go so soon. love your close behind 18 year old sister.. Keep Jeremy safe when he goes over soon.

I may have not known all of them, but I have known my share of amazing individuals who have given their lives for our country, for us. I will never forget the ones who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. I live everyday for them and their families, because they have given me the chance to do so. PUTTING OUT A FIRE
What happens to those gentlemen when they are waging war?
They fight it to protect us all, and love's worth fighting for.
When friends fall dead from enemy fire, they try hard not to cry,
But every day they see the dawn might be the day they'll die.
Far from home, their friends in arms become their family.
The brotherhood fights bravely for the cause of liberty.
Duty, honor, country fill their hearts with bold desire.
These gentlemen grow fierce as fighters putting out a fire.

I am donating proceeds from every song download to programs that help soldiers and their families fight PTSD. Thank you for your support! ...and Thank you to soldiers everywhere!
