I THINK THE POLICE SHOULD BE MORE CAREFUL WHEN DOING THE JOB. I MEAN, HOW CAN THE OFFICER BE GUNNED DOWN SO CLOSE TO THE CARAVAN? AREN'T THEY SUPPOSED TO CHECK FIRST WHETHER THE SUSPECT IS GONE AND THAT THE AREA IS CLEAR?
We had a pretty harrowing experience here in VA a few years ago at a trailer park. Our Animal Control officer was the only one close enough to respond to a man who was holding his wife and children at gunpoint. When the deputy arrived, the man fired a 12 guage slug at him and it literally grazed his cheek. The deputy then opened fire on him in return and killed him.
He still has a light scar on his face to this day.
Assult/Automatic rifles now being carried by PD agencies across the US is the result of the Hollywood Bank of America shoot out. LAPD had 9mm and bank robbers had AK-47's that was a badass shot out
while some officers seem to think they can do what ever they like while in uniform and step all over your rights ,there are still good officers out there trying to make a difference and enforce the law like it is supposed to be. lets not lump them all in the same category. i for one am glad that piece of shit in that trailer was shot and killed and i am saddened that 2 kids will grow up with out a mother. RIP.
@36bbak 100% agreed. In fact I plan on becoming a police officer to show people that cops can still do good and do the right things. I've been a victim of police brutality but that doesn't mean I hate all cops just the asshole ones..
I'm hardly a cop sympathizer, but they don't get paid enough to be potentially taken away from their families. Then again, it is the generalized attitude of police officers that make them targets in the first place. People are starting to disregard authority out of spite for police and that makes their job more dangerous. The system needs to properly punish officers who abuse the law to decrease violence against officers and citizens alike. This incident is fucked up and infuriating.
fuck, S.W.A.T was dispatched after a two hour stand-off? Shit, if this happened in California that suspect would of been terminated in 30 minutes or less for shooting an Officer.
Two of my brothers are cops here in Brazil, in 2002 one of them lost his partner, he was killed by a traficant! My mother was so shocked that she said:i'd rather to die than see one my sons killed! One week earlier my brother's partner came to a barbecue in my house in a sunday, a sunday later he was killed with a shot in his head! His father told to a cop: take my son's handcuffs and bring arrested the man who killed him using it! One year later the cops done their job and arrested the killer!
i hate the police but thats fucked up.every cop aint bad just most.i really hate cops but this shit is sad.she probably was a good one.with all the cop brutality it makes it hard to sympathize with them all
There are far more good cops than bad just as there are far more Good People than bad..These were good cops in a bad situation, One I hope and pray others never have to face..It is sad to see there are those who would not even try to understand how a husband , child, Father, Mother etc feel when they get the news their loved one is gone because some Physco with a shotgun decided today was the day he would lose it.
my best friends mom and dad were both in this shooting , both known as sheriff perks . they are great people , and i had met the sheriff who was killed , she was a great person , and now new years will never b the same for her family , or any other part of the miami valley . my best to her family
this officer gave her life to keep her community safe, she was a mother a wife and a daughter. anyone trying to defame this officer or mock her death is an ignorant moron.. and p.s. if you hate cops so much,..next time your house is being robbed call a crack head. my heart goes out to all those involved in this tragic event. I am truly sorry for your loss
@bybeeman-I couldn't have said it better myself. People have such a disrespect for law enforcement, walk a mile in there shoes. I hope the best for her family.
@TheBibleMadePlain most details will be vague until the investigation is complete, the authorities have to maintain the integrity of the investigation without having public opinion or scrutiny compromising efforts. give it time my friend the truth will be told in its good time.
You idiots can keep trying to post defamatory comments, but they will all be removed and you will be blocked. I can even identify when the same people post from different accounts, so don't waste your breath. No one will read it.
Thanks for policing the comments, dbphotos. It's sick the way some people have to feel better about their own pathetic lives by mocking someone who gave their life in service of others.
Rest In Peace Suzanne... You served you Tour Of Duty with Dignity, Distinction and Honor...Then - you paid the Ultimate Price - to protect the citizens of Clark County - when you were shot and killed - by a deranged gunman...
Now - your presence, kindness, and your beautiful smile - will be sadly missed - by your family, friends, fellow deputies and co-workers, officers from the surrounding area, and the citizens you served... As we try to cope with your death...
A police woman saved my wife from a cereal rapist she was turning the corner and out of the corner of her eye saw him dragging to his car. The officers response was immediate and perfect she threw her full weight on the guy and brought him down. I can not even begin to state just how bad I feel for this officers family. i will keep her in my prayers. May God comfort and and set his angels about those who know her. Thanks for keeping comments respectful .
It's good for the general rational minded public to see these videos. Officers deal with dudes with guns on a daily basis. If it werent' for good training there would be even more deaths and shootings involving officers and criminals. I wish there were commercials that showed what police do on a daily basis, then people would understand how to react with the police alot better.
How sad for the deputy and her family. My heart goes out to them. What really amazes me is the rants from the "cop-haters" on here. Amazing because without the police we would all be in danger of being over run by the criminal wolves of society which I am sad to say are getting braver and more willing to take advantage of the decent citizens in our society. Try to justify it any way you haters want but the fact is that police do not harass law abiding citizens for no reason.
May God bless the deceased officers family. As for the shooter, too bad the trailer didn't catch fire and burn him alive, like he is experiencing now in Hell. Burn SOB burn.
This is so tragic... Dep. Hopper didn't even have time to draw her firearm. I was very worried when I heard of this story as my wife's aunt (1:47) was there, even though she was off duty. It is truly a show of how much the law enforcement community is a family; troopers, officers, deputies all came to the aid of a fellow peace officer and did everything they could to make sure this madman could not harm anyone else. RIP Dep Hopper.
@WindowOnFinland As a police officer I know the risks and dangers of the job. God bless deputy Hoppers family, she is a fallen hero.. And as for our scumbag criminals, the majority of them steal firearms from law abiding gun owners. Ive never had a problem with a citizen who lawfully owned a gun, however I have had problems with pistol packing punks who steal guns to obtain them.-R.D.H, CPD
That news cast wasnt too shy showing a dead body were they? Blurred out or not thats disrespectful for the dead. And showing a cop being shit and rolling on the ground is allways disrespectful. Hope the gun man in burning in hell and is Hilters bitch right now. And may the chick cop rest in peace.
Good. Bloody. Gods. As much as I hate cops, I have to salute the brave responders who get the call of shots fired and then step in to harm's way to protect innocent life. Thank the gods for cops who are crazy enough to want the job.
My brother is a Deputy in Clark Co he called me to tell me when it happened. The fact of the matter is we have evil people in this world. The officers are there to enforce the laws they dont make them. The sad part of this is she did nothing wrong to recieve what was dealt to her. She was there to protect the people of the trailer park. For the people that dont like law enforcement you will need them some day. Prayers go out to the Officers familys and everyone involved. RIP you are a hero.
I am heartened to see the good will from the posters so far. It's too bad that coming soon are comments from awful people who will mock the officer's death and treat it as a joke. God Bless both officers.
