The first major amendment to German law in 1933 when Hitler became Chancellor was gun control. Under his new law all guns were banned. Power does indeed come from the barrell of a gun. Second, my main claim was that during WWII, far worse atrocities took place (Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Dresden, and Hamburg). They could drop their bombs against military bases, not on cities to kill civilians, women and children. The effects are still felt today. The first major amendment to German law in 1933 when Hitler became Chancellor was gun control. Under his new law all guns were banned. Power does indeed come from the barrell of a gun. Austria, provided 800,000 own citizens into the wehrmarcht and another 150, 000 into the SS. Italian fascist forces operated against the Greeks and North Africans on behalf of the Nazis. You can argue the numbers, but denying the holocaust altogether shows very bold ignorance. I watched the doc. Shoah; the stories are real and cannot be faked. Believing that every piece of evidence is fake takes more energy than believing that genocide did occur. Also, Hitler lost to the soviets.

2. Hitler fixed the economy to gain the trust of the German people and would allow them to be his puppets.

@TheNickblink182 yes, he couldn't just say LETS KILL ALL OF THE JEWS at the begging, but when he gained control of eastern Europe and France he then had enough recourses to commence the "final solution". Its unsure if he was planning from the beginning to kill all of the Jews, but wouldn't it have been easier if he just kicked out the Jews and other minorities, like Russia did, instead of wasting resources on the camps and search parties. It means that he REALLY wanted to exterminate them.

If you are saying that holocaust means genocide, does that mean that the Bosnian Genocide committed by Serb forces in Srebrenica in 1995 is also a holocaust?

the holocaust is considered to be the largest genocide the world has ever seen, and in fact the meaning you have described fits perfectly with it,
especially since most of the people in the death camps were burned in furnaces.

If the number of victims of Nazi death camps was exaggerated and was actually less than the number of victims of the Bosnian genocide, would the Bosnian genocide be called the holocaust?
How come scholars that have debated the actual statistics from death camps and the causes of death (by saying that victims died by disease and starvation and not gas or fire) have been fired or arrested regardless of actual records?

the numbers of genocide has always been only an estimate, its nearly impossible to find the exact numbers however the numbers of the holocaust has been ranged from 6 million to 17 million because many of the victims like I said were burnt after they have been killed, most of the proof came from the names placed in the secret police documents, and the allies freeing the prisoners in the camps.

however saying that the Bosnian Genocide had more casualties is absolutely false, first of all, the camps in Germany started to hold prisoners during 1933. The killings were increased throughout the war and reached its peak in 1942, when Germany commenced the final solution. The killings continued until 1945. The killings necessarily started after the occupation of Poland, during 1939 however their was genocide before this. In total the holocaust lasted for about 6-7 years.

Both events are terrible, but for some reason the deaths of the Jews overshadows all of the other atrocities that were committed by allied forces during WWII. Such as, the annihilation of Nagasaki, and Hiroshima by atomic bombs and the incendiary decimation of Dresden and Hamburg. However, most people don't shed a single tear over the burnt children of those unfortunate places because few were permitted by allied forces.

i didn't say 6 million JEWS, I said 6 million-11 million people died in the holocaust, the Jews were killed the most because they were scapegoated even before the war for the GD. Since they were the ones who collected the taxes. And they were the wealthiest in some parts of Germany. It wasn't the first time that Jews were placed under genocide, hundreds of times throughout history, Jews were killed in Spain, Italy, Russia, Egypt, ect....

and the reason why nobody sheds a tear for Japan after the bombs because of the genocide they committed in east Asia, the numbers ranged from 4 mil-10 mil innocent East Asians (Chinese, Filipinos, Indonesians, and Koreans.)
There was also considered to be over 2 million women who were made into sex slaves for the Japanese army.
And even today, they do not speak of it, not even in the classrooms.

@MrBubbles468 Perhaps you're right about Japan, although I don't see how that justifies frying a city full of innocent children with Atomic fire and then never mentioning it. And what about Dresden? It is widely known that they had absolutely no military significance whatsoever, yet they were bombarded with fire until the whole city was annihilated. Why shouldn't all war crimes be made known in the history books, and the guilty parties be made to pay?

@NoFaithInFolklore That's the moral quandry of it all; should we have dropped atomic weapons on largely civilian cities and end the war quickly or launch a land-based invasion and slog through years of further war and loss of life on both sides?
Either option is a losing situation for someone. War is full of impossible decisions that have to be made.

@mslewp I've seen tons of pictures of victims of WW2. Do you even know what the word holocaust means? After you finish looking it up I want you to think of the hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women, and children who were burned to death in Dresden and Hamburg by incendiary attacks whose pictures you'll probably never see, and tell me why that isn't called the holocaust? Or why not the nuclear attacks that devastated hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

It's like arguing with a religous person or a Flat-Earther. Like Hitler said: you can't argue with someone who has faith. Just look up some pictures of the Holocaust or look at records of the victums by the NAZIs, read Anne Frank's diary, listen to stories of survivors. You're like a very small child denying something obviously true.

The true victims of holocaust were the people of Dresden, Hamburg, Nagasaki, and Hiroshima while the tragedy of their burnt children is hardly mentioned.

Did you know that there is not any clear proof that the victims (most of whom starved to death) were systematically exterminated under any state order? Did you know that the Jews weren't the only ones who died in the death camps?
Did you know that there have been many scholars who, after examining the records, concluded that the claims were grossly exaggerated, and were then arrested for their skepticism?

First you say that there is no proof that the killing ever happend, and then you say "Jews weren't the only ones who died in the death camps". If the camps never existed, then how did people other than Jews die there?
I'm perfectly aware that people other than Jews died, but for every 7 people who died, 6 were Jews.
Wikipedia is just as good a source as any. People complain about how it's not peer reviewed, but if (out of room)

@mslewp First, let me clear up the fact that I never said that no one died in concentration camps. Second, my main claim was that during WWII, far worse atrocities took place (Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Dresden, and Hamburg). Third, I claim that the definition of the word holocaust as listed in Webster's dictionary, more aptly applies to fiery deaths of the victims the allied attacks on cities I previously listed and not the deaths by starvation that mainly took place in Nazi death camps.

But please explain to me why your are defending a man who killed people simply because of their religion, ethnicity, disabilities, and sexuality? In a form of trying to make the perfect race? Type 'Laws against Holocaust denial' you can read the laws yourself, or for a chart listing famous scholars and how much time they served, scroll to the bottom of the article.
Keep in mind that while holocaust denial is illegal, it is perfectly OK to say that people of Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Dresden, & Hamburg weren't vaporized!

@TheSpartanondrugs I like Americans, I love democracy, but I can say that Hiroshima and Nagasaky were a black spot in history. They could drop their bombs against military bases, not on cities to kill civilians, women and children. The effects are still felt today. Their sins may have been forgiven because after the war Americans helped Japan to become what it is today.

@NoFaithInFolklore As a German I can tell you, that I would rather have lived in Dresden or Hamburg, then have lived in Auschwitz or Leninigrad. The war crimes committed by the allies paled in comparison to the ones committed by the Nazis. And the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki probably saved hundreds of thousands of lives by preventing an blockade or worse- invasion of Japan. Tell me if you were President Truman what would you do?
