Yeah...haha! I've "punched" the seals and the tiny pieces of metal went out on first three or four hard acceleration rides...

Yes, a little bit. But the Dyna rejetting + SE airbox and filter compensated it very well. Fuel consumption is a bit higher after all this changes, but the bike is waaaay better!

It's very simple. Take an iron bar 3/8 in. diameter and about 23 in. lenght, no-sharpened tip. Introduce the bar 'til the seal and hammer it digging a hole. Move it laterally and repeat the process, until the seal breaks. Don't worry, it seems to be a "brutal" method, but don't forget: it's an H-D, man. Nothing will be damaged. You'll hear the loose seal making noises for a while, but hard acceleration will throw it off. The sound will become nice, not "screaming", very low note!

You must get some loud pipes; I boughta set of slash cut slip-ons for my injected 883... doesn't make it go any faster, just makes it sound MUCH MUCH better... I have other motorcycles, but I use my Harley the most because it is so much fun

get some loud pipes, i,ve just bought a 2001 sportster 883 for a mess about on while my speed triple is locked up for winter......well i did hate harleys but guess what.There noisy,vibrate and are cool as fyuk and the triple wont be out much next year.

Nowadays I ride with debaffled SE slash cut slip-ons and the sound is great. But I kept these original semi-debaffled pipes because the sound is nice and they're better for long distance trips. Check this video with good quality loudspeakers and proper sound settings: you'll see... Thanks for comments!

My stock mufflers were changed before I even took delivery of mine. After watching some videos of stock pipes I'm actually considering putting the stock, quiet mufflers on. Maybe I can sell the slip ons that are currently installed.
