@vlmarshall yes an alpha type use two power pistons but one of them can be too a real displacer at the same time,it remember me a rider stirling type engine.these are the mos powerful engines I´ve seen.your engine looks has two real pistons and one is a bit longer ,this portion is displacer too.Regards
@profesorjuano You're probably right, then. This displacer piston extends quite a way into the hot cap, so I never thought of it as an Alpha... but the engine has quite a high compression, so I guess it IS working like two pistons.
