I'm pretty sure that Billy was a writer-in-the-hall for most of his tenure on the show, much the same as Richard Christy is now. He'd only come into the studio for certain bits and characters. Billy was a bit more vicious than Jackie. Billy was even too much for Jackie, at times. Jackie would get sincerely annoyed at Billy's 'jackie puppet' bits. That's how I remember it, anyways.

the show was gold during the OJ trial..Howard and the crew ripping on the trial was 100000x funnier than making fun of Ellen and Leno...and i think that when Jackie laughs at what Howard or Billy says its most likely because he wrote it lmfao. i did at first thought Howard got better when i started listening to him in 06 but when i found the old howard stern show recordings, i was addicted to it.

Artie, I belive, is single-handedly responsible for the demise of the show. He does not contribute to the show...he simply interrupts and hijacks bits with the intent of turning the entire focus of the show on himself. My dream Stern Show lineup would include Jacki and Billy West along with the antics of Sal and Richard. Of course, I can only dream of that. In the meantime I'll continue to be bored with recycled Artie stories, half of which are completely fictional anyway...
