  • does 1616 live at box flat.

  • gah! 1616 sounds like its not running on all 6, last time i saw it it was running really rough

  • that will do the speed. I'll never let him live that down.

  • any chance of a future look inside the 1225 at boxflat ? on youtube.....

  • Good video. Good to see this 'hi-breed' loco preserved although I must admit they should have never done this to 1208. I worked 1208 as both a driver and fireman on a number of occasions out of the Mayne and Bundaberg depots in the 1970's and 80's. 1616 also, those 1600 class 'punched above their weight'. You couldn't hurry them too much but on the banks they would just dig in and keep on keeping on (like Burgers Paints). Again, great video.

  • @LMatters1 The loco was burnt out and this was a chance to breath life into the old relics.

  • what a fantastic video thankyou so much for that ,very interesting doco. at boxflat is there much rail line to run tourists up and down on ?.

  • @VK4LA No worries! The Swanbank Branch is 8km's in length and trains run from Bundamba Racecourse at the 1km mark to the 8km mark at Swanbank.

  • are these locos being restored or scrapped ?

  • @frogboi666 1225 is going to be restored. 1616 has already been saved from the blow torch.
