For anyone doubting their live competency, just look for videos from the Utrecht show the day after this one. This bad performance was due entirely to sound problems, which should be clear just from watching it (people running on and off stage to fix things, the band shooting each other concerned looks, Kyo yelling at the engineers etc.).
ok.. I think when they're doing live's and a song requires those grutty background vocals.. they should just leave it up to kaoru, cause idk wth toshii was doing on different sense.. it was a nice attempt but Kaoru's obviously the best choice for the job.. and yes if two are required. die is the next choice... I wonder how shinya sounds!?
Not saying im on the sound tech's side. Im not, he sucks. But in a stage like that where its band after band, it is a little hard to get everything right. And it happens. BUT! he got nothing right. So he sucks.
Man, Kyo really should have stopped the first half of the performance until the staff did something about the sound. I mean, dir en grey still kept going like they can't stop now but the staffs here seriously ruined it.
Honestly I would have to say Kyo is a much better vocalist now rather than back when Withering to Death came out. His range is a lot better and I think this live is a really bad one to base his skills and competency off of as a vocalist. The audio for this live was completely fubared at the beginning and honestly I think he might has strained his vocals a little bit in the first 7 songs. But I say go buy their new album because it's fucking epic.
I stood in 3rd row, in front of toshiya and couldn't hear anything except for bass and Bass drums. Those huge subwoofers in front of the stage blaste away everything! too bad =/
Kyo about this show: "Sorry, all. WOA show was terrible 'cause I wasn't strong enough. I'll fight w/ my biggest effort and boiling blood as I refuse to lose. -Kyo"

@anbmjj Toshiya used a more growlier style and Kaoru low shouts. i like Toshiya's better but still, Kaoru does a good job and it fits.

good thing toshiyas bass is cranked... guitars dont seems beefy enough (probably the least of their sound problems at this show)

The concert was awesome!
But I hated the sound system this year.
I stood in 3rd row, in front of toshiya and couldn't hear anything except for bass and Bass drums. Those huge subwoofers in front of the stage blaste away everything! too bad =/
