you have to disable the steal trainers glitch before you talk to a trainer...

and once you get into a battle with him/her you need to enable it and then that weird glitch wont happen but if you keep it enabled somehow it messes up like it did on you

My friend has a glitchy charizard in his crystal and decided to screw with it. the game had '?' marks all over the screen and pokemon he released, (Tauros,Kingdra) appeared in his PC then the game crashed. Afterwards the save file was deleted by the damned game. :p

The thing with the gameshark code to steal other people's pokemon is you can't turn it on until you are already in battle. It's funny, because you can also run from the battle if you have it on before hand and still win! =D

Well, that code makes any battle object that appears into a wild pokémon. The instructions that went with the code explicitly says to enable it AFTER the trainer sent out his or her pokémon. So that isn't a glitch, it's a known issue.

Yeah the code by the looks of it makes anything loadable in battle catchable, since you loaded the cheat before the battle it registered the trainer as catchable, and so wouldn't bring out any pokemon, and couldn't be caught as doesn't have a place in the hex table. Use the cheat after the battle has started for it to work normally.
