I actually bought the out of print Tales From The Crypt soundtrack that has music from various episodes. It has four and a half minutes of music from this episode and surprisingly they left out the creepy, upbeat music that plays at the beggining and end.

This opening music is positively astounding. I don't think any other episode of TFTC has had an opening sequence this immensely powerful. It's no wonder this was the first episode chosen to air for broadcast, even though it wasn't the first episode filmed.

It really does go with this opening. it sounds like prisoners using their spoons or jail utensils they have on the prison bars in their cell. i can imagine them being all bored and trying to make musical sounds with their utensils. it has been in my head for days now!
