He tended to victims of the plague in the small Ayrshire town of Largs. The townies moved those with the plague up the glen, which was out of the town. His prophesy was that the plague would return to Largs if the trees above his grave ever touched. Each year the local Council trim the trees to make sure they don't touch. And thus avoid the plague.
