I think it as 1934, but either way they copied the walrus things dance moves from a fella named Cab Calloway. He was a big time singer back then and did the voice of the walrus and provided the soundtrack to a few cartoons back then. I recommend lookin up the cartoon for the very beginning. It has Cab himself cutting a rug for about 45 sec with his band behind him. That dude as smooth as silk. Like he got butter on the bottoms of his shoes or something.
