luz72 ... it's just the style, because in traditional middle eastern/arabic dancing, the women who dance sometimes make that sound..
but i'm not 100% sure..

the way i know it more is the audience (women) will do it! especially when she s dancin for you at your table and shimmyin well or sth like that. and when the dancer calls agirl to dancewith her she ll also often go "yiii" when the girl is doin well... but i like how she does it for herself too. normally it s cheerint o motivate a dancer!
