I can give ya some advice on getting fast times.

1: Use gamecube controller

2: You want Speed (most important)

Drift/miniturbo

3. That is the worst bike in the game for time trial

no don't use the gamecube controller because you won't be able to do tricks and wheelie.

Uhh... you can wheelie with gamcube controller and trick... just press up on the control pad, that is one of the best parts of the gamcube controller - wheelie control

Wow nice! I'm so bad with the wheel, I got used to the nunchuck and fail with the wheel. My time is still the same since I don't TT much, I just play on wifi with my messed up Mii, I put the eyes and eybrows sticking out form the face so my Mii has horns and the middle part of the face has mickey mouse face thing on it =D
