your holdin the sticks wrong... iv played the drums a long time and for people just startin out thats pretty complex stuff... maybe for people who have been playin 3 months...
@masseyted if you've been playing the drums for a long time then you'll know that different styles require different grips. and this is basic stuff, if you're learning then these are good things to practice. you'll get a feel for the drums quicker and it'll help you play more fluently
@KaneFOB7 well done you repeated half of what i said but in a different way.... and its easier to just hold the sticks propper to start with..... youll progress faster, have a better technique and it is easier to play faster
@masseyted wow you're really smart... it takes a genius like you to take credit for other peoples comments... i'm sorry for ever going against you making the comment that he's holding the sticks wrong coz you obviously know everything about drums... you don't have to tell me how i can learn faster mate
@KaneFOB7 i wasnt really directin it at you i was directin it at anyone who would read it as anyone who reads the comments would.... and i dont know everythin about drums i just gave advice to some people so maybe they could learn some more....
Holy crap. . . This just made me realize how much of the basics I DON'T have down. I've been playing drums all my life, self taugh, and plays some fairly complex songs. But.. this just made me realize I still have a LONG way to go in de-coupling some basic hand/foot movements, like the opposing kick/highhat beats while doing the 16ths.
Fantástico!

A 16th note does not mean you hit the drum 16 times in four beats.
RockinRowdyRoberto 2 years ago
umm yes it does
ocaladrummer0 2 years ago
Maaan, what happens when you play two sixteenth notes and seven eighth notes in one bar?
RockinRowdyRoberto 2 years ago
I see what you are saying...
but straight 16th notes are played 16 times in 4 beats (or 4 in one beat). That's where they get their name from
ocaladrummer0 2 years ago
Haha I know. I'm just trying to be a prick. :D
RockinRowdyRoberto 2 years ago
uhm yea thats why its called 16th?
ascortjkk 2 years ago
It's a 16th of a bar.
RockinRowdyRoberto 2 years ago
yes it does. lol.
Drum14amelia 2 years ago
if that beat is 1 second on a 4/4 ritme it does mean you hit the drum 16 times in four beats.
Jjjjjjcool 2 years ago
A 16th note is a 16th of a bar. Not sixteen beats itself :D.
This is all I'm saying peoples. I mean no harm! (Aside from being an ass)
RockinRowdyRoberto 2 years ago
Strikes. Not beats.**
