It used to sound almost the exact same, I took out the cat and replaced it with a straight pipe and put on some headers. its twice as loud and has like 15 more horsepower. i would recomend doing the same.
@Levi61092 na flowmasters actually gives the real sound of a V8 with a lope, magnaflows amplifies a V8 with a deep sound which sucks. Flowmasters sound good on camaros. magnaflows sound good on mustangs.
@camaro88iroc Flowmasters don't sound good on anything. Too fucking raspy. Not to mention they arn't flow masters at all. The Backpressure and flow inside the pipes suck ass.
@slasher7555 well thats not what my neighbors say, and its not goin to sound good on 305s. go to my vids and listen to my exhaust. especially on the burnout vid. those are how flowmasters sound on a 350! but of course they're louder in person
@camaro88iroc then your neighbor knows nothing about exhausts and backpressure on a motor I'm sorry to tell you, look it up anywhere, The Flowmasters exhaust have horrible flow and back pressure. These magnaflows for example have better flow and back pressure. The best in my opinion for F-bodies are the GMMG cat-backs, Best sounding and Best flowing. Flowmasters are just shit dude, trust me. And why bring up a 305? I know what the 350 sounds like.. I have an 1988 Camaro Iroc Z L98 myself.

@camaro88iroc Funny thing is i was being Civil at first just helping another F-body enthusiast out B/c people who don't have knowledge of Cars and mechanics don't know about Flowmaster's flaws and only buy for the sound(The Rasp). @camaro88iroc the P.O said it had the Dynomax cat-back, had it up on the lift later in the week and it was only a Dynomax muffler. Everythin on my Iroc is factory even paint/decals, in that good of a cond. Only true flaw was the dent in passenger fender. I originally wanted to go with GMMG but at 750$+ship it wasn't really cheap considering the Custom headers/ypipe i'm getting built. This vid doesn't rly justice i think its the stock 305, look at the 88 firebird 350 take off vid, its better.
@camaro88iroc yours sounds alright, but i'd much rather go for something with better flow so when i mod the motor i wont have to change it out again. "Do it right the first time around wont have to repeat". The Setup I'm looking at building is gonna run in the low 12s w/o changing internals much. Internals will come further down the line. Don't have a job atm so the car is on hold til i have a better cash flow. Once i get the stuff i want done tho it'l sound gr8. Till then stock is iight.
not mine 8-). just gotta get a higher stall converter(2400-2800 700R4 trans), so you get all the power out of em' instead of being slaved by the stock stall converter(1700 700R4 trans)
You just couldn't get a 350 with a stick because the T5 was all that was really viable in terms of cost and said T5 wouldn't have liked being behind the 350.
they started upgrading and putting the 700R4 trans in the 5.7L 350s, cause the higher torque and HP numbers, same reason why they didn't put the stick in cause higher torque numbers
Like I said, T5s are fragile behind 5.0s. A 350 is so far beyond what a T5 is built for in terms of torque it's not funny and considering there wasn't a cost effective manual transmission that would handle said torque output they just forced the autobox on everyone.
It does sound WAY better than a flowmaster.

Well they did.
You just couldn't get a 350 with a stick because the T5 was all that was really viable in terms of cost and said T5 wouldn't have liked being behind the 350.
