My boyfriend is authentic mexican and he puts onions in the oil before he fries chicken or steak. You might want to try that to give it a little more flavor.
@ultimatecouponlady yep i do that too...just shot this on a whim actually adding fresh garlic and onions adds lots of flavor (actually the no salt seasoning I add has that in it already too....)i do that when i make spanish rice.... and I am also Mexican...Mexican American that is...thanks for sharing his tip!
