Any city with a council that dictates policy to the Police Chief can attest to the poor cop's discomfort. I work for such a police agency and it is sickening to have our hands tied by the city council and not allowed to enforce the law "equally and without prejudice". Our chief imposes policies we KNOW come from city hall - and we can either leave, or toe the line. Disgusting? YES. That's just grossly dramatic. It's the superiors who gave the orders who are to blame and while you can draw that little red line, this situation cannot compare to the Nuremberg Trials. Unless I'm very much mistaken, officers don't have the army line in the rules that state (roughly) that if they find an order in dereliction of duty or against responsibility that they can decline to follow it. I personally don't think we will see terrorism end in our lifetime and so this "war", no matter where it is will not be over anytime soon and people willl continue to die. As far as bringing honor to them, the TRUEST way is to recognize the sacrifice they made (you think they wanted to die?) and work to make government accountable. As far as THIS administration goes, going after them is like closing the door after the horse got out. The fact is I didn't vote for this Bush either time because it was CLEAR to me he was NOT up to the job. Why that wasn't clear to some 62 million other Americans in '04 is beyond me.

My assertion was that yes, I believe the government had experimented with various forms of mind control, but that they proved to be largely INEFFECTIVE. No, I don't believe in the 'manchurian candidate'. Of course no one believes our goverment has ever been transparent, but given the bumbling nature of politicians and government officials, I don't buy the idea such programs were ever more than failed experiments. I was Hypnotized on My graduation night from HS in our Gymnasium during our Grad Night celebration...as part of the entertainment there were magicians and casino tables and near the end of the night a Hypnotist showed up and did a two hour long show. I had always been skeptical of Hypnosis as I thought it somehow put people in a sleep like state while others controlled them...

Then they dimmed the lights and he told us all to relax and began to repeat a mantra of commands for us to relax and let go. Dude, you really should try it. It is a very eye opening experience even if you find you are not easily brought under. ALmost anyone can be induced in the right environment...it is so easy it will baffle your noggin.

Could you act more like a rabid dog if really you tried? I too am angry that we lost lives, I have 5 DEAD comrades in arms from this war. I went to EACH of their funeral and saw the anguish. I have written, called, and even gone directly to my represenative as part of a group in DC to voice our opinion. I belong to a VAIW (Veterans Against the Iraq War), but there are constructive ways to go about things, because no one in power listens to assholes who rant like babys. So FUCK YOU mic.
