@maleficentdiva - I went to your YouTube Channel, and I liked it. I like your "Disney" voice, and that's meant as a compliment. But I must say ... I personally don't think that the Lennon Sister's hair is something that you should harp on. I'm just sayin'...
Too bad that a lot of the young women of today do not have the values of the Lennon sisters! Luckily my 2 daughter's do!! It is hard to protect young women today from all the junk they are exposed to on TV!
O how gorgeous. I wish every lady dressed with such elegance. What happened to class? In singing as well. Now everyone just wails, hollers and screams. Its Sad.

Thank you tvcollector71 for putting up these timeless treasures. I do enjoy watching all of the old Lennon Sisters clips that you have put up. My grandfather was enamored by their genuine talent. These preserved Kinescopes help new generations see what American entertainment was like before all the crap that is on television today.
Oh, come on, Mr. Welk!! If Debbie Reynolds sang "lover" instead of "darling", the Lennon sisters could have, too. Oh, but who cares? This is great! Kathy! Kathy! Kathy! Kathy! Kathy!
@MrCombat1965 The old T.V. screen look your talking about is actually an artifact of Kinescope. Back in the early days of live television, they didn't have video tape capabilities. so to preserve these timeless classics, they literally had to couple a movie camera to a video monitor and film what was on the screen. They were not all ways able to line them up totally, so the result would be cropped corners. Kinescopes were used up until the '70's in many smaller television markets---

@parab121 Take your "useless TV trivia" elsewhere. This is the disadvantage of YouTube, anybody can lecture anyone without warrant. Many of us are well aware of the history of the medium, therefore you know where you can stick your trivia. Sheesh.
@MrCombat1965 And another problem with Youtube is that jerks like you fly off the collar for no reason. It wasn't a lecture you moron, just some information I thought that people might like to know. If you don't like the fact that people can respond to comments that you put up, than I suggest that you don't put anymore up. And as far as lecture with out warrant, I suggest you take a close look at your self. There was nothing in my statement that could be construed as being derogatory
@parab121 Read everything you last posted and apply them directly to yourself you hypocrite. You fly off the collar, you call someone a moron, you don't like a response to your comments. Typical hypocrite. Leave people alone and take a good long look in the mirror.
@MrCombat1965 I read what parab121 wrote in response to your post about the old tv look, and I can't understand why you got your panties in a wad. I found it quite interesting! Sounds like you are the one with the problem. In case you didn't realize it, the comment section on Youtube is an open forum. And like they said, if you don't like anyone responding to your comments, don't put any on here.
@ProundTexan1001 Yea, I can't figure it out, I wasn't even trying to challenge him, or say anything negative about his comment. I work in the television industry and find it's history quite interesting, and I just wanted to share a little bit of it.
@ProundTexan1001 Wrong again. Hitler was a menace. Women like you keep trying to bait me into a useless argument with words such as moron and menace, it isn't working. "Panties in a wad" makes no sense to us whatsoever. Goodbye. Leave us alone.
@MrCombat1965 as they still didn't have video tape facilities. For a long time, film was the only transfer method available. Just a little bit of 'useless' T.V. industry trivia.
In 1965 Peggy would have been pregnant with her first daughter, Julianne, and I think that Dianne was expecting little Dianne. How can I be so sure? They are the two who are standing behind a chair! Oh, those Lawrence Welk people were so clever! Heaven forbid they should show their baby bumps in that era. Love them so much.
45 years old and i`m hooked on the Lennon Sisters.
Just brilliant brilliant singers. and SOOO SOOO LOVELY.

Tammy's in love but Dee Dee and Peggy are pregnant with Tommy Gass and Chris Cathcart, each born in early 1966. This is from fall, 1965.

Lawrence Welk taped his show at the Hollywood Palace during the 1965-66 season. This was the first ABC studio to go color in 1965.

I like the old T.V. screen look. It reminds me of those huge consoles from the 1960's
