@21Bit21 You may not be giving it enough english. Try giving it a bit more left/right english with a little bit of low english too. Elevating your cue a bit more will give it more of a curve too but that'll be harder to hit right. Also, if you hit harder the curve will take affect later than if you hit it softer. One last thing: the softer your tip is, the easier it is to do a half masse. Remember, just practice a lot and you'll get it down. Good luck.

@12345ryan54321  The only problem is that the shot you just described isn't a legal jump shot. Thats called "scooping" and in most formats, is an illegal shot and will result in a foul.

To everybody, the ball never goes right. He chose a line to shoot that is to the right of the middle (interference) ball. He puts down left english on the ball which makes it veer to the left. It's only an illusion that it's going right... not even that, if you understand masse, hooking, and english, then you'll know it never travels right.

Ummmm, that was totally left... I'm not sure if you are saying the line was to the right, or if the hook is to the right. However the point of his shot is that it hooks to the left. His initial line is to the right because the ball is going to hook left... That's how it hooks around the interference ball.

yes the cue goes right initially, but then it curves left to go back to center in order to hit the objective ball. That's what he means I think. The actual entire path of the ball is to the right of the blocking ball, but it curves back to the left after it passes the blocking ball, and thus what he meant to give it left curve

hit higher on the cue ball if you want the curve to happen closer to you. if you need to curve the ball sort of far away from you, hit lower on the cue ball, while still hitting down and to one side.
