Macross frontier was only popular for one thing. It's epic OST and songs. Unfortunately, it's story is extremely cliche and everything was predictable from episode 4. Half of the viewers knew the ending of the series around episode 10. The voice acting was actually impressive though. Just the story is meh...

@PantsuPantsu The story was basically supposed to be a modern retelling of the original SDFM/Seven seeing as how it was a 25th anniversary tribute for the franchise. That was basically the whole point of the series.

@PantsuPantsu I completely agree, I didn't like Macross Frontier much, I couldn't really like Aruto and Sheryl I didn't like them at all which probably killed it for me. I dunno if it's just me, but the movie actually seemed quite a bit better than the TV series.
